Should be 24V

    At the battery terminals I'm getting 29.5V

They are testing fine.

Looking for any ideas. I just built an O2 portable amp and it powers on, but it is not passing audio. Only a loud clicking sound. I checked everything and it seems fine.

Get the Focal, ARX, or Ascends 

It's perfectly fine to demo stuff, but if you are constantly in there taking up the sales guy time and never buying anything then not really. Those guys are paid commission, so he could be losing out on money if he spends time with you instead of another customer.

Def Techs are good for movies and gaming, but for music not so much, they can become very muddy quickly and like CEL4145 said, they are picky with placement. Energy's connoisseur line sounds awful. I don't think I've heard that set of ML, but I will say I love most of the stuff they make. I think Klipsch is one of the most over rated companies out there, not to mention you can buy a brand new set for the same price.

   

It depends what you listen too, what you will amp them with and what you want to hear. If you want lowend, then no, really good detail then yes. Solid state amp, no, tube amp, yes. 

I've heard several sets of Magnepans, and yes, like all electrostats they are directional. So if you step out of the sweet spot, you loose a ton of the audio. But if they are set up up right and you are in the sweet spot they are fantastic!

If you could care less about the detail then electrostatics are the way to go. But they sound best with tube amps. If you couldN'T care less about detail, then go with a traditional driver. But realistically, good detail is part of the tone and balanced frequency response. 

The only difference is the connector. Nothing else, same quality.

Uuummmmm........Sensitivity is extremely important to you. It will determine the dB output of the speaker when combined with the amp.

Use the over-under, in what ever size the wire wants to lay naturally.

Is there a reason you aren't considering a custom set? Also, are you looking for something that's more accurate, bass heavy, warm, etc...?

I would recommend looking for an EQ plugin and a parametric one at that. If you really want to experience the most changes that will be the best option.

Not true. A good set of speakers can sound much better. There's several variables, but in your case the best option would be to try it all, but you will probably be better off with the headphones.

I read your response. but realistically thats the best thing to do. IMO your probably better off with the headphones.

That statement came from my experience with them. They aren't comfortable to me.

With open back, she does realize that people around her will hear the music also. The K240 are not comfortable. If she like the Senns then why not go with those?
