Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
About battery capacity, IMHO this is Ok time for player to remain portable - not heavy, not bulky. Modern life already stiched us to the power bank or other energy sources. I fly time to time on long haul flight up to 20-25 hours trips and I cannot imagine that 6-7 hours will not be enough...- Kroppand

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
I couldn’t spot it yet firmly but I don’t reboot N3U to get in DAC mode with iPhone. Sometimes it worked when it was in sleep mode (screen off) and iPhone is on with any app running (Tidal, Qobuz etc) and connecting OTG cable first to iPhone and after to N3U switched to DAC mode. Today it didn’t...- Kroppand

That’s great, issues was spotted when playing from Tidal and N3U in DAC mode, have you tried it? Anyway, as Andykong confirmed above, player is not certified for MQA, nothing to complain about :)- Kroppand

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
Thanks @Andykong , I did not mention it but it is in No USB power mode by default. And this happens not to all songs, only with the specific sample rate, e.g. 24-bit 192KHz plays very fine, but MQA MAX starts glitching.- Kroppand

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
I have found strange issue with some songs in Tidal. Playing from iPhone, decoding does not work well and you can see on the screen like it switches to on/off, and sound does not go smoothly, some clicking all the time, sometimes it becomes stable and then starts again. USB-Lightning Cable was...- Kroppand

Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp
Once I felt pretty stupid:) I completely reduced volume on the iphone to 0and RU7 “stopped” producing sound in IEMs but I didn’t correlate with my action. It requires to have at least some level volume up in iphone. Check it, especially shortcuts if you use them, e.g. “turn off volume when...- Kroppand

Apple Music... Seriously?
For Spotify, I used a trick "2 weeks outside of your home country" - it allows to listen to music while you are travel. In fact, you may just use VPN to your home country, connect to their library and then you re-new 2 weeks period again. It may work with Qobuz too but I did not test yet.- Kroppand

JH13 or UERM ?
I agree with goodvibes - you need to hear both especially with exact source you plan to use. People always argue what is better having different aural perception, that is why you may be confused and take wrong decision.- Kroppand

There are plenty of nice customized firmware on russian site, here it is http://player.ru/showthread.php?t=106177 Basically one guy used stock firmware to optimize it. FiiO X5 beta firmware 2.03 download and discussion. One word: Playlists!
Several customers confirmed a bug in tracks changing - when we tried to shift to the next track player return to the beginning of current one or 1-2 tracks before. It occurs on volume buttons and regular ones randomly. -

Actually James has already replied about that matter and knows it well. He said that was a request from some scope if people to assign tracks switching to volume buttons. But for me it looks quite straightforward - volume buttons for volume, track navigation ones must be assigned for own purpose.- Kroppand

Thanks a lot Trev, it works!:) To consolidate how I got .cue working for me: 1.Initial stuff - I had 2 flac files from vinyl rip (RockSomething Side A.flac and RockSomething Side B.flac), 1 cue file where all tracks from both flacs are listed. 2. I duplicated cue to second file and...- Kroppand

Dears, What are the requirements s for cue files reading on X3? I have plenty of vinyl rips in flac (in the single file per side) with cue sheets, but when I browse the folders X3 displays flac files only. I encoded .cue into ISO 8859-1 code page and no luck. Any ideas?- Kroppand
