Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Got a pair of barely used HD600 (2019 ver.) today for $160, surprisingly they are not that "sharp" sounding, nor lack of bass IMO. I'm quite satisfied with the sound :) I've been planning to order the HD6xx on the coming Black Friday for the last few weeks, since ~$300 is a bit to much for me...- Leywes

I've total confidence in what you said, the grey and the clear are from the same mold. I've compared them side by side. But is there any chance or at any point some even larger size tri-flange tips were made from a different mold, which will explain why my clear tips are larger than the current...- Leywes

Just received my ER38-18 grey replacement tips. Unfortunately, they are not the same size as my original "Large" size clear tips, which came with my MK5s. These smaller large grey tips don't fit my ears at all. I read some of the Amazon reviews stated the same thing claiming the large grey tips...- Leywes

I've decided to get the large grey tips (ER38-18), since this is the only option available for me on Amazon. But I'd like to know is there any difference between the grey ones and the clear ones (ER38-18CL ), except for the colour?- Leywes

It's kinda weird, at the Etymotic Research Store on Amazon, both of their ER38-18 (Large grey-tips) and ER38-15SM (Small clear-tips) can be shipped to my location (Hong Kong). However, the ER38-18CL (Large clear-tips) is shown beyond seller's shipping coverage. I'm having a hard time try to...- Leywes

More prison tech info if you're interested. I guess they took out the foams so that there isn't any compartment that is not visible for inspection.- Leywes

@EtyDave, I would like to know if this ER38-18CLL is the same large tips that originally came with the MK5? The large clear tips that came with my MK5 are surely not "long stem", they have recessed stems which are not the same as the ER38-18CLL that recommended for MK5 on the Etymotic site...- Leywes

The clear tri-flange tips that came with my updated package ER3 & ER4 are slimmer and shorter than the ones that came with my MK5. I'm having a hard time to get a good seal with the smaller clear tips, I have to use the same old pair every time I switch my Etys. Are those smaller clear tips...- Leywes

Any Senn HD6xx/650 owners here? How would you compare them with ER4SR/XR/or other ER line-up? I'd really like to get the HD6xx, since I've never own open-backs before.- Leywes

The microphonic is not as severe as the MK5, the ER3SE cable is a lot softer. Maybe because the cable hit less hard on/by things.- Leywes

Just received my ER3SE with updated packaging. They wrapped the twisted tie wires on too tight on the upper Y part of the cable and created several dents on them on each side. The the upper Y part cables are thin and flimsy. I compared my ER3SE with some older version ER3SEs one the internet...- Leywes

I have just received my V6Stage, very high quality build. The fit for me is just right, everything sounds clear. But I would like to know, how do you guys know if they are not in a proper seal? I tested them with the audio clip in this webpage, I can't hear nothing wrong, does that mean they...- Leywes

Thanks Levanter, But the V6S is featuring some of the latest technology from 1964. (Triple bore, centre drive, 3D soundstage, 3 way drive...) Besides from frequency response, does the V6S have more technological advantages than the normal V6? Such as sound stage, definition and clarity etc.- Leywes

I'm struggling between V6 and V6S......... The Stage seems to be more low and mid focus, is that true? If I like a more balanced sounding, should I get the V6 instead of the Stage?- Leywes

Still cannot decide whether I should get the V6 or V6S........ I actually like IEM with balanced sound, is V6 the way out? Besides of the Stage has more low end and mids, is there anything else different from the V6?- Leywes
