A balanced tube amp. 

I got my dad a modi+vali and a pair of HE-400s for christmas. He loves it, but I feel the vali doesn't have enough power fully drive the HE-400s. Even at the highest volume the sound doesn't get loud enough in my opinion.  

You must be new around here. Lately everyone has been going crazy over the Vali. You can get one and a Modi for ~$250 after tax/shipping.

I wanted to because I want to be able to switch between a solid state amp and a tube amp without having to change cables.    Spillters always decrease signal quality so I was just thinking this was a bad idea for balanced amps. After doing some research post four on this forum agrees and...

Did you notice any signal degradation when you used the spiltter? It just seems like that would add noise / take away from the signal. 

I was in your same boat 2 weeks ago. I was using my Sound Blaster ZxR to drive my HD650s, and I was thinking about getting LCD-3s in the future. Ultimately I decided to go ahead and get the Gungir/Mjolnir combo because even if you are able to resell your dac/amp you'll never get the full price...

Right now I have a gungnir feeding a mjolnir and it sounds absolutely amazing, but I am thinking about adding a WA22 to my system. Has anyone used the preamp out XLR connections on the mjolnir to feed the WA22? I am wondering how this would sound.
