To be honest, I didn't feel satisfied using the O2 with the he400i, switching to the Ember made a world of difference to them for me personally, but that's just me.

Assuming you mean modding your 400i instead of simply looking to get a better dac/amp, the regrilling mod shown here is one of the most popular mods for a good amount of hifiman headphones.

Yeah, i had a brain fart and meant to say the ember but i have a bunch of tabs open on my phone looking at dozens of different amps and i got myself confused lol. Ember definitely interests me more than a schiit amp right now

Yeah, all of these amps sound amazing, and definitely out of my current price range lol, my wallet needs a rest for a little while but I did like what i saw with the ember or a tube amp in that price range of some kind at any rate.

Yeah, I'd love to say I'll never need a new headphone again but I've been in this hobby long enough to know better than to say something like that lol.
