There is something we must all agree on w/ the K701s...

Out of the box they were pretty good but bright, then at about 30 or 40 hours the sound became so disarrayed and dull that I could not listen to them at all. At about 100 hours (or a little bit earlier) the sound was pulled back together (now minus brightness), and at 150 hours the bass became...

Amp connected to a headphone jack on a computer. What to expect?

Thank you guys all for your inputs, I appreciate it. Now about my situation. When away from my home rig, I use my PowerBook (with files ripped from CDs on the hard drive in lossless AIFF format) and Senn. PXC-250 (excellent for air-traveling and not so bad just for listening to music). The...

Amp connected to a headphone jack on a computer. What to expect?

Buying a portable amp I forget that my Power Book G4 has a headphone jack only, so there is no line out. Addition of the amp made the sound fuller and richer, but at the same time it is not as open and transparent compared to what I have directly from the headphone jack. Is it what should be...

Very Quick Comparison HD-600 vs. HD-650

for letting us know about it. In my brief trial of the two (using both, Tascam as SS and Musical Fidelity X-CAN v3 as a tube amp), I also preferred HD-650 as the more involving (whatever stands behind this phenomenon) though admitted a seemingly more balanced tonality of HD-600.

    The forgotten sennheiser HD600s

Me too. In a brief comparison 650 sounded more involving to my ears compared to 600.
