    Along the right lines

Just bought a iBasso DX50, and I also have a Fiio 07 Andes from a previous rig. If I pair the Andes with the iBasso am I right in thinking that it will bypass the iBasso internal Dac? If so is the Fiio better than the internal in the iBasso? Using both with SHURE IEM's 535, and Bose Qc25.

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread

Just took delivery of my Silver Poison cable for my Shure 535 IEM's this morning and SP LOD. I didn't know what to expect, but the attention to detail is first class. Cheers Frank and apologies for the rant yesterday (",) Pics and review to follow.

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

Quote: I suppose you could order one from Amazon, try it, and if you don't like it you can send it back under 30 day return.  Which is you right under the distance selling act.    I bought the E07 Andes and noticed a significant difference through my iPhone, to the point where I have...

Tips for getting the best out of custom moulds

    Why have we become audiophiles.

When I was younger, so much younger than I am now I got my first Midi System and always played about with the EQ to make it sound better. Then I purchased my first Kenwood Hi-Fi D700 I think, and thought it was the business. At the time my friends and I were heavily into the club scene with...

    About burning in

In terms of 'Burning in' I think its of the view that you listen to your music at an acceptable level over a period time, for example 20hrs.  Anything between 100 - 200hrs is what most audiophiles would recommend for your earphones/cables to be properly 'burned in'.   Its like buying a...

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread

Lol, or some info that states 'orders received by .......... Will be dispatched by such and such a date. I know Frank is a very busy man but I think it's better to under promise and over deliver, than to over promise and under deliver example being the wait times. You don't want to keep...

    Amp SE310 or new SE535?

A couple of things to remember regarding the SE310's. You have one driver doing the work of three (ie Bass, Mid, and Treble) A amp will amplify the volume whilst at the same time allowing you to make changes to the Bass and Treble giving you some improvement in the quality - but at the same...

    Amp SE310 or new SE535?

I had the SE530's and upgraded to 535 through the product replacement scheme. I noticed a difference between the two in that the 535 had better SQ. I then decided to couple my iPhone 4S with an amp as I felt the EQ wasn't giving me the bass signature that I was looking for. Now I have that...

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

Fortunately enough the LOD didn't cost that much! I have a limit as to what I spend in gear if I think it will make that much if a difference. I'm thinking about moving away from i-Devices with regards a FLAC player around 32gb that won't break the bank! Not seen anything to my liking as yet...

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

I must admit I do like deep bass, and clarity in my music. I usually go for FLAC or ALAC to get close to clarity as possible. I've just ordered 2 sets of custom cables, and a custom LOD so hopefully that will also add to the portable music experience. Currently listening to my music on my...

To be honest, I don't see them doing it in the next 5yrs, they have their place in the market and I don't see them deviating from it.

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

Sorry for the duplicate post!! :-/   Unfortunately I don't have them both, as this is my first venture into portable amps.  Therefore have no foundation to base my thoughts or findings.   However, used to work for Linn Hi-Fi and have a good ear for sound quality without the science.  ...

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

I would agree, a lot of people don't like the Shure's, and a lot say get a better Amp than the E11. To be honest, I wouldn't class myself as an Audiophile, just someone who appreciates good music, and doesn't have to go overboard to achieve it. I find the E07K a great little Amp/DAC very much...

I'm also waiting on Toxic Cables from Frank 7 - 10days. I can't wait. In preparation for my arrival I have assigned a full evening to listen to some of my favourite songs, with a glass, sorry a bottle of red wine and a Cuban cigar. Bring it on!

This horse has probably been flogged to death, but I've never been on a forum where some threads are like 106 pages long. Well done you lot.   Given the mobile phone market has hit a plateau and there is nothing new under the sun regarding software at the moment I was thinking of a change...
