24 bit Vinyl rip or CD Remaster?

Maybe I just tend to prefer vinyl over cd's because the engineering/mastering of albums in the past simply outdoes the pro loudness mastered digital of today's average recording?  I do prefer to listen to classics rather than modern music.  With so many opinions and measurements that argue...

24 bit Vinyl rip or CD Remaster?

To anyone who can't hear the quality difference between a vinyl playing and a cd playing, I really do feel sad for you.  If you have never properly heard vinyl, on a decent setup, you should make it a point to do so sometime.        The sound vinyl produces has a warmth to it that cd's...

Quote:   Only ascertained by my ears.  To me that counts more than any measurements performed and quoted.  I let my ears be my guide.  No disrespect to Ivor Tiefenbrun.   Check out the video below, it gives a basic example of a remastered release compared to the original release.  I...

24 bit Vinyl rip or CD Remaster?

Quote:   My ears can certainly tell the difference between many 320 kbps mp3/ogg/aac rips and 24/96 vinyl rips (not just the pops and crackles ).  If you playback said rips using reasonable equipment or headphones, the difference can be noticeable.     Keep in mind some...

    Best Decade for Music

Quote:   The truth is every decade had some good and some bad music.   I remember listening to this track on my first decent home audio setup back in College during the 90's...in a dorm room the size of my washroom today haha.  Ahhh memories.  I'll never forget getting fined one time...

24 bit Vinyl rip or CD Remaster?

Just my 2 cents here, but if I have a listen to the same version of Fleetwood Mac's - Rumours album as an eac cd rip, and then as a 24/96 vinyl rip, my ears much prefer the vinyl rip.  Crackles and pops and all.  Vinyl rips simply have a more organic sound, if that makes any sense.  Much more...

    Best Decade for Music

I would have to say 70's.  Too many great bands and songs to choose from in that decade.  I admit the 80's is a decade of music I am rediscovering and enjoying lately too.  Nostalgia comes on thick when I listen to great 80's tracks.  That could have something to do with it.     I think we...

I have to give kudos to JVC.  I would never have though they could bring such happiness to my ear nubs.  I can't claim to have listened to the best of the best to put things in perspective, but after nearly 6 hours of listening to many of my favorite tracks, the JVC HA-FXT90's are the best sound...
