The Enleum HPA-23RM Discussion Thread
I am starting to lose trust in Enleum with now multiple reports of 23R and 23RM units sounding different. Enleum has not addressed this issue and does not reply to emails. This is not serious.- DeepGroove

Very neat! It looks like the leather has been glued onto the case. This does not cause any issue with the amp heating?- DeepGroove

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
Does plugging a demanding load (like the Susvara) straight into the Hugo 2, with line-out activated, risk damaging the Hugo? My understanding is that it does not, as the fixed voltage output is designed not to clip, but I wonder if this puts any stress to the amp in the long-run. It's not...- DeepGroove

The Enleum HPA-23RM Discussion Thread
Amazing. Looking forward. I like the smoothness of the MHA200 but I find that it really lacks micro-details, soundstage depth and cleanliness compared to the Ferrum Orr stack, which I tried at home. I passed on the Oor as I eventually found it too mellow for my taste with the Susvara. It was...- DeepGroove

The Enleum HPA-23RM Discussion Thread
Would this still be a risk with Chord Hugo 2 (which outputs 3Vrms in its SE "line out" mode) feeding the 23RM, and with headphones such as the Utopia and Susvara? I've always thought that a higher pre-amp voltage was desirable something desirable. (Edit: apparently there is such a thing as...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE5 Ultimate Discussion/ Impressions thread
Hello Proedros, I owned SE5 Ultimate for 6 years and the SE6 Edge for a little less than a year. The SE5 Ultimate has rolled off highs, which gives it a darker presentation. The SE6 Edge is to my hear slightly V-shaped, with prominent treble and a bass shelf (all compared to the Hifiman Susvara...- DeepGroove

Tor Audio Headphone Amps.
I see...on the photos/review video there is only a 4 pin xlr output to see. I will ask! But the xlr>SE cable that comes with the amp suggests also, that the XLR output is in fact an SE. Otherwise I can not imagine how this cable does not blow up the amp.- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE5 Ultimate Discussion/ Impressions thread
Thanks for sharing! Did you end up ordering the universal versions in the end? Also curious to hear what the differences in sound were between the custom and universal versions. Did you feel you lost any of the organic / visceral feeling? I particularly like it in my custom SE5U and I’ve always...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE6 introduced!
I have to admit that the lack of conversation about the latest models seems to confirm these products are still ultra-niche. Grzergorz told me they are focusing on expanding to other markets than the EU. Perhaps this explains the push towards universal models and the Chinese market. I still...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE6 introduced!
Interesting! All the more than they have said for the past 10 years that it could never be done. My hypothesis is that the sound quality is close to that of the custom models, but perhaps without the full visceral bass effect that may come only from having the silicone filling up your entire...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE6 introduced!
A year ago, Spiral Ear said they would make demos of the SE6 Edge and organize a tour. Since then, absolutely no news. I love what SE does, but it's hard dealing with people so commercially autistic.- DeepGroove

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Hello - it’s the Plastics One standard cable: https://www.p1tec.com/Catalog.php?FILTER_CLEAR&FILTER_F10=High%20End%20Audio&FILTER_F0=Motion%20Series However as mentioned earlier in the thread, Spiral Ears uses a custom version of this cable. It sounds much better with the SE5 than the Plastics...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ear SE6 EDGE Custom In-Ear Monitors (2020). Impressions & Reviews Thread.
Please keep the impressions coming - especially how SE6E compares to SE5U. Agree that the stock cables give the best results. That's after buying 6 aftermarket cables at various price points. Probably some of this phase phuckery in the low mids!- DeepGroove

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
@propellerhead This is interesting - SE orders customized cables from Plastics One. This can explain the price difference, though I am unable to hear a difference between the standard Plastics One cable and the SE-customized one. One word of caution with re-termination: the soldiering material...- DeepGroove

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Sharing a tip with fellow-cable swappers. With the SE-5 Ultimate, I notice a difference in sound with cables. Unfortunately, most aftermarket cables mess up with the sound signature of the SE5U, notably with bass control and soundstage coherence. Some cables also have a lose fit because their...- DeepGroove

Spiral Ears SE6 introduced!
That’s some way to put it! I can think of three reasons why there are still no in-depth review of the SE6 (esp. compared to the SE5 Ult) out there: 1. Very, very few have purchased it 2. It’s not that great 3. It’s so good that every owner is busy listening to them. @TAsme did you have the...- DeepGroove

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
Hi everyone, I am new to this thread and seeking your advice. I am looking for a DAP to use purely as a transport for the Hugo.
