Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
I have the original HD 600 with the marble finish. Love them. I've wondered about the HD 6XX though. More bass?- eysikal

Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
Honestly, my first impression is that I prefer the sound of the older model. Seems more detailed to me. I'll listen again later and see if I still think the same.- eysikal

Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
Trying to decide which one sounds better. Modi Multibit 2 in black on bottom. Original (I think. There's some kind of firmware update available?) Modi Multibit on top.- eysikal

Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp
I have this exact setup. To my recollection, I think the amp sounded better on my HD600s when using the add-in DAC card from Violectric. The Multibit sounded harsher to me. I use the word recollection becauase I haven’t been able to use the Violectric DAC card ever since the update to High...- eysikal

Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp
Anyone else having issues with their Violectric setup since Apple updated to macOS High Sierra? I have an add-in USB DAC board from Violectric based on the Tenor chip. (http://violectric-usa.com/accessories/usb-24-192-tenor) It does not play nicely with High Sierra at all. As soon as I power...- eysikal

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
Is it normal for the Mimby to sound a bit harsh? Just picked one up on eBay. Relative to my normal setup, the Mimby definitely sounds more resolving and detailed to my ears...but with a certain harshness that would probably end up being fatiguing. I probably need to listen again tomorrow...- eysikal

Sound distorts after a few seconds. Mac OS X with Violectric V200
Turns out I'm an idiot and didn't install drivers. I had just been using and audio interface over the weekend that didn't require any driver on my Mac. I must have installed a driver on the iMac for the Violectric a while back and forgot about it.- eysikal

Sound distorts after a few seconds. Mac OS X with Violectric V200
Hi guys, I'm on a MacBook Pro and using a Violectric V200 with add-on DAC card as my source. When I go to play a file, sound is fine for about 6-7 seconds before becoming very distorted. Doesn't matter what I use as playback software (I normally use Audirvana, but the behavior is the same...- eysikal

Need new cables for Klipsch Image S4
Can anyone recommend someone that does headphone recabling? I have a pair of Klipsch Image S4 and the cable has gone bad. Might be nice to go for nylon cables. I'd even consider doing it myself. Thanks!- eysikal

Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp
Just purchased a V200 from a fellow board member. Excited to try it out with my HD600 soon! I also bought the add-on DAC board. Hopefully that DAC is sufficient.- eysikal

Talk Me Into (or out of) Sennheiser Momentum 2.0
I have a set of Momentum 1.0's that I'm sending back due to comfort issues. I wear these all day long at work, so comfort is a huge factor for me. I have smaller ears, so I thought I'd get away with small ear cups everyone has complained about. The cups do fit around my ears, but their depth is...- eysikal

Light Harmonic GEEK
That's really weird then. I'd get in contact with their customer service guy. All 1000s are supposed to be out. And most of the 450s as well.- eysikal

Light Harmonic GEEK
Mine is the 450 in green pictured above. I been listening to it for the whole second half of the work day and it's warm - definitely not hot. Hard to tell how good it is since I'm listening to it with earbuds (although they are decent. Klipsch). Things do sound better over the standard line...- eysikal

Exactly $150 to spend on work headphones.
I got in on this when it was still in the Kickstarter project phase: http://mustgeekout.com/ It looks very promising. I'm sure people on here have been talking about it.- eysikal

Exactly $150 to spend on work headphones.
Hey, Yes. I did make a choice. I ended up getting the Brainwavz HM5 http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-HM5-Studio-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B006MA9XXM. They are a "clone" of the ones darthman references in this thread. I like them...but I am not blown away by them. They are definitely a flat response...- eysikal

A lot of good recommendations in this thread. Problem is most of them are considerably more money than the hard $150 limit I have.- eysikal
