Hi guys,
 
I'm on a MacBook Pro and using a Violectric V200 with add-on DAC card as my source. When I go to play a file, sound is fine for about 6-7 seconds before becoming very distorted. Doesn't matter what I use as playback software (I normally use Audirvana, but the behavior is the same with iTunes, YouTube via Chrome, etc). This also happens on my coworker's MacBook. However, there are zero issues when I run this same setup on my iMac at home. 
 
Any insight?

What version of Mac OS X are you using?

That would be El Capitan. 10.11.6.

Turns out I'm an idiot and didn't install drivers. 
 
I had just been using and audio interface over the weekend that didn't require any driver on my Mac. I must have installed a driver on the iMac for the Violectric a while back and forgot about it.
