Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
I have an iPhone 7 coming today so won't have a headphone jack for long :) As for your question, staying on the head is something they do very very well They were designed by an ex-NFL player (with a bit of help from Dale Lott of Aurisonics) specifically for athletes to stay put under any...- WickedChicken

iPhone + Livv Headphones = sweat proof wireless freedom. Perhaps not the highest fidelity but the lack of wires allows for a lot of freedom. Definitely the best Gym solution I own.- WickedChicken

Aurisonics ROCKETS: Impressions Thread
Just chiming in to say that I'm still very happy with my Rockets. Yes, they are more microphonic than a lot of other offerings but the pros far out weight the cons for me. I'm still anxiously awaiting the launch of the Auris project.- WickedChicken

Here's a relatively affordable solution for my Dining Room. First up we have the recently acquired Teac LP-P1000 compact stereo system which I picked up to replace a problematic Klipsh airplay speaker. I didn't like the limited range of the on board Bluetooth (and it's only Bluetooth...- WickedChicken

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
Yeah, like the Q701s (and I expect all the 700 series) they are not going to sound very good through an iPad or iPod. The 62ohm rating is quite misleading as these cans need quite a lot of current to really open up. They sound very nice through my Geek Out 720 or my Project Sunrise.- WickedChicken

AKG K7XXX #588 in the house.
I'm very curious to read the opinions of others as they start trickling in. It's quite possible that someone will open them up and find that these are indeed simply re-branded Q701s with the bass port mod, memory foam ear pads, and a new headband. But at the end of the day I don't really...- WickedChicken

AKG K7XXX #588 in the house.
Ahh, you are correct, I was simply looking at size/thickness but a quick press of each and the K7XX is indeed memory foam. Is that the only difference between Annie and Q701 pads? I had just assumed the dimensions were different as well but since I've never seen the Annie's in person it's all...- WickedChicken

AKG K7XXX #588 in the house.
It's quite possible. I have gone so far as to take a pad off of each pair to verify that they are indeed identical. I find the build quality and the mid and treble presentation to be very similar to the Q701s and given that you can easily find those for $185-200 on Amazon I'd say the...- WickedChicken

If you read the shipping update it states that only 3 pallets (out of 11) have made it to the shipping warehouse and they aren't in any particular order serial number wise. So they just sorted what the could and sent them out to the appropriate people based on the serial numbers.- WickedChicken

AKG K7XXX #588 in the house.
The man in the brown truck handed them to me about 30 minutes ago. I have them plugged into my Geek Out 720 now and am groovin' to a bit of Digable Planets. There is definitely a bit of a bass boost over my Q701s and the smooth leather headband is an instant improvement in the comfort...- WickedChicken

My pair is out for delivery now. Of course UPS does't deliver to my house until around 6 PM so I probably won't get to use them much today.- WickedChicken

Personally I think their selection is awesome. as already mentioned, their playlist selection isn't nearly as exhaustive as spotify's but From an album perspective I have no complaints. I still like listening to full albums and I expect their playlist seldection will get better as time goes on.- WickedChicken

From a usability perspective I will agree with you 100% about the spotify's functionality, From the end user perspective they do indeed provide a great service. I just don't agree with their business model in regards to artist rights/payouts and so I choose not to support them just like I don't...- WickedChicken

Thanks, it's my own invention. 2 Ikea Numerar countertops, 2 pairs of Ikea Capita Brackets, and S2S Height Adjustable legs. The shelf above the desk is just the left over bit from cutting down the counter top that's used for the monitor bridge.- WickedChicken

At the moment most of my headphone listening is either done on the go or in my home office or on the go via my Fiio X3 and Aurisonics Rockets. I will hopefully be receiving a Geek Pulse XFi before years end along with a set of AKG K7XX via mass drop. Hopefully the spring will see a...- WickedChicken

Up until recently I have boycotted all the streaming services simply because the royalty payouts are crap and they care more about the shareholders than the artists. But with the recent introduction of TidalHiFi I have finally found a streaming service I can support. There is no add-supported...- WickedChicken
