Hi @Paul - iBasso how is the DX50 new firmware coming along?

Hi guys i'm wondering if you can help me.   i'm using my black filters since i got my 846. i see alot of you guys using blue and blue filter mods. but i cannot find the impressions on black filter mod. can anyone of you describe the sound of the black filter mod?   thanks a million.

  i am also very interested in this idea. my new house is coming and i'm intending use these type of high gauge cables for speaker cable. if you have tried it please let me know.

  Yes it does... actually if i'm not wrong since FW1.2 onwards it will play dsd... actually i did not encounter any issues for playback as long as its supported... soon my DX will become a transport too... D14 BushMaster is in my eyes now...

looks like i'm not the only one... the music still plays though...  here is the photo i took when playing dsd files..

Hahaha... Well I wanted higher resolution with my existing rig... But I do not want to spend AK series type of money and owning a dx50 I dun wanna buy a dx90... So just nice D14 step in...

After considering my options... i'm thinking to get this to make my DX50 into a transport... and using D14 lineout into my ALO The National amp... do you guys think it will make a difference in sound? as i was thinking now instead of a Wolfson dac in DX50 i'm gonna use D14's sabre DAC... and...

Yeah it does make a difference. i been thinking to take a stab at it... but i don't know where to start. Any experience modders can point me in the correct direction?

Well, we are not trying to do any pitchforking. wat we are concern if its suppose to be bridged or not. it may not be an issue to the earphone. i just want to know if its suppose to be that way as its not everyday i can drop $1000 on an earphone. it took me a year of review and hunting and...

  i'm hoping its the norm. and i'm not blowing this out of proportions. after replying just now i went to google the images of SE846 i see the joint is not consistent. some are joint some are not. i have emailed shure and let's see wat they say.

  @SomeGuyDude i get wat you are trying to say. i do hope its not a manufacturing error. *fingers crossed*   with my day to day contact with mobile phones and computer mother boards if those 3 components are meant to be jointed together. It should be joint on the pcb tracks not bridging...

After reading your post... i went to look at my 846... to my horror... both sides of my 846 has the same bridged soldering... is it supposed to be bridged or this is a manufacturing error?

  i'm using original S3 batt that has NFC.   i do not think there should be an issue to use it on DX50.

@Paul - iBasso i saw that DX90 has a firmware release coming up.   Will DX50 get an update as well?

  @jmwaite thank you for providing insight to the sound sig.   How are the treble, mid and bass? it does seems like a handy unit.  sorry as i'm not tat familiar with the characteristics of the opamp chosen for Ruby.

anyone can provide a review of the amp? any comparison? very interested on how it will sound.
