Overear that doesn't fit my ears...
Well firstly the over ear headphones are supposed to go around your ears, so if the UE6000s are pressing on your lower earlobes, causing discomfort and you intend to use them for long periods of time in one sitting, I would recommend selling them and getting a pair of headphones that has...- Shockah

Need something good for working out...
Yurbuds makes quite comfortable sports earphones, at a low cost. I have used their Inspire Series of earphones (although I dont quite remember which model). http://yurbuds.com/products/in-the-ear/inspire/ At $30 you cant really go wrong. SQ is nothing spectacular, but at least I recall it...- Shockah

Westone adv series advice with working out and sweat
When you say workout when exactly are you going to use them? Do you mean like going to the gym, or for rock climbing and cycling, or for light jogging, or marathon running? Perhaps you should try searching for reviews from people who use the Westones for the same purpose as you do, different...- Shockah

Amp or DAC? Which to buy first for HD 600
That is a good suggestion, but I have yet to order the E10. As for the amp I only have 1 qualm with the O2. Is the O2 amp going to sound too harsh when used with the Beyer DT880 600ohm? I intend to get those cans as a sidegrade in the future but cant audition the O2 amp with headphones I dont...- Shockah

Amp or DAC? Which to buy first for HD 600
Thanks for all the suggestions! Now first things first, I have the HD 600s on my head right now and listening to it right now I would say that it most definitely does not sound bad. In the audio store, I listened to their setup Mac > iFi iUSB > iFi iDAC > iFi iCan > HD 600. Comparatively...- Shockah

Amp or DAC? Which to buy first for HD 600
In that case I should purchase the DAC first. Just a quick question, how would the lack of sufficient amplification affect the SQ of my cans? Would the reduction in SQ (as compared to a properly amped headphone) be very drastic? The Fiio E10 also includes an amp, so it would cushion the impact...- Shockah

Amp or DAC? Which to buy first for HD 600
So I will be getting a pair of Sennheiser HD 600s tomorrow, but only have enough money to get the cans and either an amp or a DAC. My audio source would be my 5 year old laptop, and a minor concession would be a small portable amplifier in my possession, a Fiio E6. It claims to be able to drive...- Shockah

DAC Interconnect Issue
I would be using PC audio solely for music. As for the Hifimediy Sabre U2 USB DAC, it is not sold in my country, and does not ship here on eBay either. In fact even DACs like the Schiit Modi cannot be found in local stores. Thankfully headphone availability is not an issue and speaking of which...- Shockah

Headphone help!!!
A portable headphone is usually made to be lightweight, built for more rugged use, of low impedance such that it can be powered from a DAP or mobile phone. Something you would feel comfortable wearing and walking on the street or on public transport. A non-portable headphone, for home...- Shockah

Sony xb500s not giving me the ear and head vibrating bass I expected?
True, although my intention was to let OP try a cost-free alternative solution first before making a purchase. If it works out, then good. If it doesn't, well, no harm done.- Shockah

Sony xb500s not giving me the ear and head vibrating bass I expected?
Alternatively, a cheaper solution would be to use an equalizer for your music. Not sure if iPhone 4s has that feature though. Being a former basshead and owner of a pair of XB500s, I can understand why some may not be content with its bass.- Shockah

DAC Interconnect Issue
I did consider that, however, I would also like a portable amplifier to power mid-high impedance headphones when I'm out auditioning them. Since the e17 can serve both purposes and is only slightly more expensive than the Modi, its is my primary choice.- Shockah

DAC Interconnect Issue
I see, thanks for all the replies. One more thing though, is it crucial to have a high quality usb interconnect, or will most usb cables that cost like $2 do the job just as well?- Shockah

DAC Interconnect Issue
Oh sorry, missed out the most crucial part I intend to use the e17 as a DAC only for my rig. And have a separate tube amp as an amplifier. So I want to bypass the DAC on my PC and bypass the amp in the fiio e17.- Shockah

DAC Interconnect Issue
Hi, I am intending to get a DAC for my desktop rig (PC Source) that has both Coaxial and USB input. I have my sights set on the Fiio e17 (so when I upgrade in the future I could just include it in my portable setup as well). The Fiio e17 has a SPDIF, Coaxial and USB input, but I was wondering ...- Shockah

Matrix M-Stage amp review: simple, cheap, and excellent.
Thanks! But does anyone know how does the matrix m stage compare to a tube amp like the littledot mkiv? I intend to use either one with the Modi DAC and Senn HD600s and many reviews stated that the mkiv and HD600 have good synergy. Never really heard of people with the m stage and HD600 though.- Shockah

Matrix M-Stage amp review: simple, cheap, and excellent.
Has anyone compared the Matrix M-Stage to the Schiit Magni? In my country, the Magni is nearly half the price of the Matrix M-Stage, although the M stage can act as a preamp, which is a strong point of contention.- Shockah

Amp Recommendation for Shure SRH-1440
Title pretty much says it all, but to be more specific, Shure 1440 owners, what amplifier do you use and what would you recommend? My budget is around $350 (USD), I normally listen to a lot of classical, as well as 70s/80s rock. Looking for an amp that can cure its slight sibilance and boost the...- Shockah
