    Cowon PLENUE M2 (Current Firmware and Manual Links in 1st post)

    It is remarkable that after all these years Cowon's reliability and overall usability are undefeated. My last purchase was Hiby R5, sounds good but not special (R3 Pro sounds better to my ears) but that android crap and unresponsive screen drive me insane. I can't for the life of me find the way...

    Cowon PLENUE M2 (Current Firmware and Manual Links in 1st post)

    After having FiiO X5 failed scroll wheel and recently FiiO X5III that won't wake up at all (backlight lights up but nothing on the screen and response, on hard reset, wipe etc.) I would not spend another penny on FiiO junk. They sounded good but even my Cowon S9, J3 and X9 still work all these...

    Cowon PLENUE M2 (Current Firmware and Manual Links in 1st post)

    I might be late with the answer but if you still need info answer is yes. M2 drives them easily with grunt only Cowon can provide. Pairing is nice as well, offcourseyou might have to use jet effects, I do.

    Idle shutdown is when the player will automatically turn off if not used/listen the music etc.

    While player is on, swipe from the top of the screen down to get to drop down meny. Ther you'll find "timers", 1 for screen off, 1 for player of at idle. By sliding on the bar from left to right and vice versa you can adjust how long before screen and/or the whole player goes off at idle.

    Cayin i5 Lossless Android DAP with AKM4490 DAC supporting 32/384 PCM + 64/128 DSD

    I've used FiiO E12 Mount Blanc and A5 ( A5 has a bit more grunt). Both very light and portable and help to boost Lower frequencies. Altough I now seldom use amps since I own selection of Headphones that sound very well indeed with I5, so no need for amp. As far as desktop version goes I never...

    Cayin i5 Lossless Android DAP with AKM4490 DAC supporting 32/384 PCM + 64/128 DSD

    Never heard that any DAP was ruined.The thing is if DAP supports Play while connected to PC and I5 is one of those players that you can choose between USB options, so it's OK to listen while charging via PC. But if you connect to wall charger than there is nooption other than charge only.

    Cayin i5 Lossless Android DAP with AKM4490 DAC supporting 32/384 PCM + 64/128 DSD

    Mine is now almost 3 years old and I only use my players while walking my dog, or ride the bike around 1.5-2 hours per event. Didn't notice that I have to charge it more often than my other players. So I want make any claims since I regulary switch between my players and headphone sets - I like...

    Cayin i5 Lossless Android DAP with AKM4490 DAC supporting 32/384 PCM + 64/128 DSD

    If you are not on the latest Firmware, than it should pop up on your home screen if your WiFi is on, when new firmware is available. I don't think that it will be anymore updates for this player, nor for the android version that is on it. It has been awhile since we've received updates. Mine...

    I had the same problem with mine and had to send it back to Penon Audio in Hong Kong. They've organised free repair outside the warranty my cost was shipping from New Zealand to them only. I don't think you can fix it. Andy Kong here said that it's a little notch that breaks and must be replaced.

    Well, if it's anything like the issue I've had with my X9 when I tried 128gb card. The thing immediately went dead and would not wake up until I left the battery drain completely. only after a few weeks it started charging again and lIved to tell the story. Of course from that point on I...

    Yep, those are from their first years around 2005 -2007 if I'm not mistaken. I am getting old you know. Days when posh A&K was just a good old Iriver, much better players with great analog sound and vastly cheaper than todays daylight robbery pricing by A&K.

    Fiio X5 3rd gen || 2x AKM 4490 || Balanced Out || DSD || DXD | DTS | Android || Dual Card Slot

    Yep, played with eq and it can be tweaked to maybe even outperform vibereffects on the stock player. UI on Hiby is not to my liking, to many clicks required to add song to playlist, to return to now playing etc. It is responsive and sounds better than Power AMP, Neutron, Onkyo etc. I still...

    I never heard PD2 ( I have PD and PM2) and between these 2 there is a small difference in the way that PD has somehow more relaxed darker sound, while PM2 does sound like a step up , better controlled bass that can really go deep down and dirty, slightly more revealing details and richer sound...

    Fiio X5 3rd gen || 2x AKM 4490 || Balanced Out || DSD || DXD | DTS | Android || Dual Card Slot

    After someone suggested earlier I've downloaded Hiby player on my X5III (stock- no mods), just to have a crack and after initially starting slow like a old car on the cold morning, it really runs smoothly and has sound EQ and other sound tweaks that matches Viber effects. It is even more...

    They certainly don't have as many fw updates, simply because they are not required. Unlike FiiO, Ibasso, Opus, A&K (I have them all), Cowon releases a finished products that work straight out of the box, so fw updates are ussualy minor tweaks but core functionality of their players is there from...

    "The only two good things about it is battery life and EQ and as I do not like EQing the music it leaves me only with battery life." To most of us quote above looks like you've chosen not to use EQ, thus limiting your sonic experience by a great margin. Of all high end portable players...
