Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Yeah, that sounds more like it, I agree that the B1 didn't feel warm with my HE-500 so it was weird but haven't experienced how impedance impact sound. I haven't had the pleasure of listening to a lot of gear so I lack experience... very clealy I do ;).   Thanks for the input, and yeah, I'm...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Received my custom Zeus last week. Been listening to them sporadicly this weekend, more so these past few days.   I really like them. Feel neutralish with slightly boosted bass, perfect for me. I was worried that, living in Sweden, if the fit wasn't good I'd have to send them back and wait...

I got this from Frank and no, it does not work like the Apple CCK unfortunately. Talk to Frank and see what he can do for you.

    Aune B1 Impressions thread

Could the current, perhaps, not influence volume but control? So if you have, say, IEMs that probably are pretty easy to drive, you do not need that much current but if you have a headphone then you might need the current to better control membrane/coil whatever...?

I just got this little gem.   Very good sound. When I'm using my IEMS, Supra 2 from Earwerkz, it quickly gets pretty loud so perhaps for very sensitive IEMs, this might not be perfect but on the other hand I cannot hear any hiss or background noise. I can hear the music very very faint when the...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

Going on memory here alone, since I'm unable to compare them side-by-side, I'd say I prefer this one. And here is my reasoning.   I have a logitech transporter, which is fine and dandy, but I'd like to test other transports and since it cannot play files above 24/96, it would be nice to have...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

Now I'm using the willem1 - version and here is where I'm at right now:   24/96 -  no problem 24/192 - works great if I use a buffer setting of 40, without it I get a slight stutter when I play the first 192-file, I guess it needs to resync to 192 or something 24/176.4 - this does not work...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

Regarding your questions:   1. I'm using an Audio-GD Reference 7.1 connected directly to the Raspberry Pi.   2. I've only tried version 1.05 of Picoreplayer. Didn't know there was a sound difference between them - I guess I'd need to test the different versions.   3. Haven't really...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

I'm using the picoreplayer, it's whats worked best for me so far. And like I said - playing a locally stored file on the Pi works better than using squeezelite but since I'm using Squeezebox, this is the alternative I'd like to pursue.   Anyways - the following settings works best for me...

I've been dabbling with it as well, connected to a Audio-GD Ref 7.1. Up to 96khz isn't a problem, above that, they sound very slow, as if the song was played at 1/4 speed. Very strange, probably something isn't registering the frequency right.   Trying to play a 24/192 wav file that is...

Now the last cable of my order arrived, a short lightning => mini usb, so good bye to that 4-something-feet long thing coiled up and with a usb => mini usb adapter at the end.   Frank told me that he has a few in stock so if any of you guys are looking for a short cable for their CLAS...

Thanks to Frank, my portable setup is now a tad... cooler. I got a balanced interconnect between -dB and RX MK3, a Silver Widow one. There are rumours that when changing the volume, there will be a scratchy sound when the amp is in balanced mode.   Not so! Well... all I can say is that this...
