Motorcycle help (Noise cancelling)
Davicho - You make a good point that cars can be just as isolating. I have never understood how those high end cars that sell noise isolation are allowed to be made. More broadly...I suppose I was trying to carve out the issue that I saw developing on the thread in rational terms that could...- not

Your Headphone Rig Rec's for the Obama's and the New Administration
To celebrate inauguration day I thought I would put for a challenge to you head-fi'ers. What headphone rigs would you pick for Obama's and members of the new administration...and why???? W3's and an iPod for Pres. Obama? Grado's for the 1st lady? Portapro's, Fiio E3's and nanos for the...- not

Motorcycle help (Noise cancelling)
Something to consider is other examples...like a high noise worksite. Certainly people ideally want to be able to hear at a gun range or a factory but there is a trade off of protecting your ears vs. being able to receive the sound cues that might prevent an accident. Also you might...- not

Personal Articles Policy - Essential Accessory?
I have no deductible. And in my experience, there was a minimum yearly fee that had several thousand in coverage so I worked it out to decide how much I could cover as cheaply as possible. They are going to insure things for the cost of purchase so you bring in receipts for...- not

Personal Articles Policy - Essential Accessory?
Hi. I just read a post about a head-fi loving guy who's dog ate his headphones and thought I would share a bit of info about insurance. It wasn't until I was I in my mid-20's that I realized I could get affordable insurance to protect much of my electronic gear. At the time I was buying...- not

Motorcycle help (Noise cancelling)
What you might want to try is something like musician earplugs like the er20's. If I understand the principle - they are meant to block dangerously loud sound levels but allow you to hear normal sounds.- not

Will I see a difference?
I tried out a pair of PK2's. I can't compare to the other headphones you are considering but the PK2's are a very nice earbud. $75ish seems fair to me for the sound quality. They are built solid as well. I am sure any of those headphones will be an improvement.- not

Sorry for the usual question. Will I benefit from an amp?
I have a Fiio E3 and think it does help the er4p's and sony v6's I have used with them. I think it depends on the headphones and the sound you want. Hard to beat $10 price tag. There is someone selling a cmoy right now for about $15 on the forum. It is a bit beat up but might be an option.- not

Best IEM's for me and my daughter.
taelen - I have been testing out a pair of Shures 310 ($180ish) and they sound very lush with guitar rock, I can't see anyone not enjoying that match. I haven't heard the Ultimate Ears or the Klipsch.- not

er4p vs. Shure SE310 vs. Yuin PK2 (Sony V6 & a pair of Sansa trash buds as the basline)
Yuin PK2's I like the Yuin PK2's quite a bit. They have a nice relaxed sound and a particular kind of clarity. Materially they feel very solid for a little pair of earbuds. I also liked the packaging - they come in a little wooden box. The clarity isn't the crystalline grace of the...- not

er4p vs. Shure SE310 vs. Yuin PK2 (Sony V6 & a pair of Sansa trash buds as the basline)
Hi. Been 6 years now how are you? So my ipod finally died and I decided to replace it with something smaller and cheaper and put the money into a nice pair of portable cans. I picked up a Sansa Clip and dig it and am now on to the headphones. I am trying out the er4p, Shure Se310 (both to...- not
