Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Impressions Thread

Reading users reporting different findings on high gain (HG)/low gain (LG), I'd tried experiencing a bit on high/low gain within the largely humanly acceptable tolerance. I was always on LG, which I have not thought of changing until I'd read about it. I have been listening on LG since the...

Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Impressions Thread

The JOT2 has been cool comparing to my good old JOT1, but even with my JOT1, it is not something that I would worry about, comparing to those pure class A and big tube amps that I had decades ago. I have always had my JOT1 stacked on top of the BF2 since I have them, was thinking my JOT1 might...

Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Impressions Thread

50+ hrs in, I am rather happy with the JOT2 in my setup, it has improved a lot, it is better than my JOT1 in many ways, especially in details and separation. "New favorite, they all say it, I'll say it too, I've got a a new favorite"

Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Impressions Thread

30+ hours on my JOT2, it is better than my old and trusted JOT1 in details and separation, a bit better sound stage, not night and day for sure, but noticeable. I think the punches are tighter on JOT2, but like it or not depends heavily on the kind of music you are listening to and how the...

No, feed to one at at time, with only one (JOT1/JOT2) powered on.

Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Impressions Thread

Received my JOT2 yesterday, the first few hours was quite rough, comparing to my 4 year+ JOT1. Feeding it with my BF2 since October, after running it for 20+hrs, it is closing in, feels a bit more spacious, the treble is more tamed than before, I suppose I should give it more time. BTW, I am on...

Sennheiser HD 380 Pro (rather large photos inside)

Because of changes in space and sound volume constraints, I am finally back to head gears since I sold my STAX SRS-4040 signature system 3 years ago (and sold my HD600 w/Cardas cable and EarMax Pro combo about 4-5 years ago), I was looking for something closed, sounds neutral and better be...

    The Stax's have arrived!

NORMAL (6-pin) has a different bias voltage which is 230V while the PRO ONLY (5-pins) ports are at 580V, the 404 shouldn't be used on NORMAL as NORMAL is for some old models that use 230V bias.

    The Stax's have arrived!

Lost count on how many hours of my 4040 already as I have switched it off when I was not at home, should be over 100 and under 130. The sound is detailed, punches are there, sound stage is wide, very good listening to Classical music, but for pop songs, my HD600/Cardas/EMP/NOS still excels it...

    The Stax's have arrived!

Quote: Originally posted by Gallaine So far, it doesn't seem as detailed as my tuberolled MG Head. Instruments that I clearly heard with the Head are almost completely obscured with the Stax. OTOH the soundstage is both deeper and wider than on the Head. We'll see what happens with more...

    The Stax's have arrived!

I have also bought a set of 4040 Signature System II yesterday, had run it about 15 hours now, a very different kind of sound comparing to my HD600/EarMax Pro combo. Not as smooth as my HD600 combo at the moment, I think I need to give it more burn in time as electrostatics tend to take much...

    Earmax Pro: reliability and price

I bought my EMP (230V) from The Audiophile Club at 362 GBP + shipping, the link to it is The Audiophile Club - EarMax Pro page It is so far so good with NOS and my HD600/Cardas combo.

    Questions on EAR HP-4

Hi everyone, Greetings ! I am a relatively new here. I currently have an EarMax Pro (with NOS tubes) with my Senn HD600 (with Cardas cable) driven by a relatively old Wadia 850 CD player and am extremely temped on getting the EAR HP-4 as it seems to suit my system and it is a good sounding...
