    Spare op-amps: worth using?

I'm looking to get a new sound card soon (probably Xonar D2X) and I have some op amps laying around from a previous mod. I have some LTC6241, LTC6241HV, and an AD823. Would they be any improvement if I swapped one of them in? I listen on a measly DT770 pro80. Also, if they do make a difference...

    Yard Sale help!

Well i just came back from a yard sale down the street. The guy had a big ol' box of electron tubes. I saw brands like RCA, Sylvania, Tung-sol, Mullard, GE, and some other ones i dont remember the names of. There were probably id say over 50 tubes in that box. He proposed $50 for the whole box...

C&C BOX+ op amp changing... wait a minute...

Isn't the BOX+ supposed to have a ad822 op amp? mine has an ad823... Thats the one in the XO, isn't it? Oh well, I'm going to swap it with an LTC6241HV anyway. (or shouldn't I?)

    Which LTC6241HV ?

I'm looking for a LTC6241HV to upgrade my C&C BOX+ amp. Thing is, there are many, many different kinds of it available for purchase/sample on the Linear Technology website. Can anybody point me to which one i should get? I want the HV version.

    Shortening DT770 cable

I have the stock cable and its way too long. I don't think I'm ready for a cable upgrade yet (I don't think i'll hear the difference) and just want to shorten the stock cable. Should I shorten and resolder from the driver end, or from the plug end? im kind of leaning toward the driver end, but...

    Do ears heal?

I was just wondering, do ears heal themselves from minor damages? When I was younger it was cool to play your music loud but now I just find it annoying. I'm scared i might have damaged by eardrums from playing loud music and am afraid that i'm not getting the most that i can get from high...

    Best bang-for-buck amp (under $100)?

I'll be using this amp with a DT770/80. Ive been looking around for some under-$100 (new/used) amps, and I think its between these: Go-vibe v6 PA2v2 Mini^3 (Are these under 100? I heard it can be DIY for under 100, which i can do, but if i can buy one for under 100, id rather do that)...

    Trash or Treasure?

Well, my house has a bunch of old home theatre stuff that we basically got for free from relatives (except for the harmon/kardon reciever which is so old I don't ever remember if there was a time where we didn't have it). I was wondering, does anybody know if all this stuff is actually worth...

DT770/80 new parts and old parts

Well I just got a dt770/80 and I'm a little bummed that I didn't get the old version (they got a "new shipment"). I like the looks of that one better. The part that shows which is Left or right looks cheap on the newer one, in my opinion. There are screws on it, though, and I'm wondering if its...

    DIYer moving up, need help.

hi, im new. I love doing DIY-things, but i dont really do them often, so i need to learn a lot. So far i've only been doing DIY things with minimal case modding or wire splicing and stuff. I want to move up to soldering stuff, and working with circuits or whatever. I plan to make one of them...
