Is it true that modded T50RP's (specifically LFF's Paradox mod) is comparable to high end headphones such as the LCD2?

Quote: My mods were done over a multi stage process involving measuring with ARTA for spectral decay, frequency response, linear and non linear distortion. The drivers were also measured independently on a baffle, in the stock cups, modded earcups, three sets of custom earcups, on a baffle...

Is it true that modded T50RP's (specifically LFF's Paradox mod) is comparable to high end headphones such as the LCD2?

Quote: Of course there is preference. Your post is great example of the pot calling the kettle black. You have not heard my modified fostex or my SR5 yet you tell me "it's not supportable" to for me to say the STAX has better sound quality. I can tell you with 100 percent certainty I have...

Is it true that modded T50RP's (specifically LFF's Paradox mod) is comparable to high end headphones such as the LCD2?

Quote: The mods I did were extensive enough to know they aren't even close to stats and not worth pursuing further. There is a STAX SR5 on ebay right now with energizer for 169 buy it now. You can buy a decent amp for under a hundred bucks if you don't mind using an older integrated or...

Is it true that modded T50RP's (specifically LFF's Paradox mod) is comparable to high end headphones such as the LCD2?

You can save money and time and get say an older pair of properly functioning STAX, say a pair of SR-5 and get higher quality sound then can be extracted from the Fostex phones.

    Best AKG cans?

The headphone out on most vintage integrated amps or receivers will work good. They are around 94 db sensitive at around 200 ohm.. dual drivers one dynamic and an electret tweeter. There are literally hundreds of posts about driving the 340 here in the archives. There are also a couple of easy...

    Best AKG cans?

The K340 for sale in the classified section for $150.00 are a steal if you have the amp to drive them properly

    tough decision: FXT90 or EPH-100?

I never had the JVC but really like the Yamaha. The sound and fit with the right tips is excellent. The sound is pretty balanced with punchy defined bass. I think the treble is good to excellent but low bit rate recordings may sound zingy due to the transparency of the micro driver. Isolation is...

    Best Bass-head IEM's for 100$ range?

Quote: +2   The Atrios are really something down low but for my tastes they tend to be a bit dark and distant sounding when compared with some other IEM's. The bass is really solid and deep and at times beyond belief or bigger then life that may lead to fatigue over time. I can't...

    Yamaha EPH-100

I have to say these little Yamaha's have become my favorite go-to phones. They are just so comfortable I forget they are there and the sound has just the right balance of tight punchy bass, liquid detailed midrange and detailed extended  treble with out the slightest sibilance (with the right...

REVIEW | TDK BA200 | 'BACK TO BLACK'

The measurements show them being very close. I know we all mostly have different perceptions of what we like best. I have only listened to a couple of balanced arm IEM's and thought they sounded fake and resonant compared to single driver dynamics.   Quote:

REVIEW | TDK BA200 | 'BACK TO BLACK'

I was lurking here and came across this thread. When i did a search on the BA200 I found this very interesting review comparing it with the less expensive models. It seems the lower end BA100 was...
