    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

I guess I didn't have a particular ZMF earpad in mind -- mostly curious if there were any that have been proven to fit the Z7M2. I haven't attempted to remove the pads, and I'm aware of the screw and the mounting ring that are present. I've searched for videos demonstrating the process and...

Does anyone have an idea of a ZMF earpad that would fit the Z7M2?

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

I have known about Meze since they first started sending ASMR YouTubers free headphones (I forget which model). I've paid attention to them over the years and was always curious but never got a chance to listen to any of the models. Finally had the itch to get the Empyrean OG after the...

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

That is a good possibility. I recently purchased the Empyrean before the Empyrean 2 was announced. I also purchased the Liric through the Meze website in February as a self-birthday gift (could not pass up the free premium cable package). So if they do end up announcing a Liric 2, just let me...

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

Random question, but is the Liric being discontinued? The Meze website underwent a major update today and the Liric is no longer listed. Maybe this means a Liric 2 is being announced?

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I guess my ears are not as focused as some others (reviewers) because I thought the bass on the Empyrean was really solid. I do understand that the bass does bleed into the midrange -- at least with the stock pads. I have not yet pad-rolled, but I would like to purchase the angled alcantara pads...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I'm curious, but what is the consensus about the Meze Empyrean (OG) for metal? I'm more so asking about people's thoughts rather than confirmation that it will be suitable for metal as I bought one during the sale prior to the Empyrean II release. Also as a random aside, I have to say that I've...

    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

I am curious, but what replacement pads/aftermarket pads have members successfully used with the Z7M2? I have searched for aftermarket pads and there are a few on Amazon and some on eBay but I'm not fully convinced they are good quality. I'm hoping that Dekoni eventually makes a set for the...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I've been using the Sony MDR-Z1R for nearly a year at this point and do agree that they have a harsh treble at times. I must have adjusted to the tuning, because I don't find that the treble bothers me as much -- I've also noticed an improvement since I switched from the stock cable (4.4...

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread

Trevor, I sent you an email a few days ago - probably 3-4 now - asking for some updates on Draug2.C color availability and potential recommendations for the NoblexMassdrop collaboration. I don't want to spam you, but let me know if you find it! Otherwise, I'll try to remember what I wrote and...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

If I'm correct in my understanding, the older versions of wooden Audeze headphones (pre-2015) had a different finishing and sealing process than the newer versions. The newer Audeze headphones do not ship with the wood care oil, which all the older ones had. I used it to nourish the wood, but...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I have the TH-X00 Ebony version unmodified. I became concerned about wood care after my first pair developed a crack on the right cup. (Which sucks because I really liked the grain on those cups.) Lawton Audio told me that they couldn't help because they were unsure how Fostex exactly...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I know everyone is talking about pads... but does anyone have information about how to maintain the wooden cups? I reached out to the Lawton Audio customer service to see if they could help, but they gave me a non-answer.   I can't locate a Fostex customer service/general inquiry email address...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

Hi All,   I received a set of the Fostex TH-X00 Ebony headphones recently. (Well, my first pair was from the February drop and one of the ear cups cracked... so I was able to get a replacement unit a few days ago.) I was curious if anyone has any information on wood care/maintenance for these...

Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview

I received my set yesterday and was quite impressed with the sound! I'm curious though -- does anyone know which ear tips are compatible with these Noble universal fit IEMs? It looks like the Comply foam tips would work, but it appears that Shure olives and Westone foams would not.    Anyone...

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread

Current and potential customers should appreciate your honesty, Trevor! Not many people will give a cut and dry explanation of their thoughts on their own business. Because you asked for an opinion, I don't think it would be a great idea to offer a rush option for a custom cable, only because...

Silver tends to be a little bit brighter and more treble forward.   Want to know my advice? Listen to your headphones, admire your gorgeous Norne Audio cable and enjoy the music!

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I hope you enjoy your new purchases!   My go to headphones are the Audeze LCD-X and the Hifiman HE-6. However, more recently, I have been listening to the HD600 and HD650 and have been really enjoying them! But the LCD-X and HE-6 are my favorites and I find them to have a high "fun" factor.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I find the Shure SE-846 to basically be a mini LCD-X.   It's great for metal and it will definitely satisfy your needs. I use the SE-846 as a daily driver for portable use. I've never been disappointed about how it handles metal.

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread

@TigzStudio Many thanks for the Draug2 that arrived today! Very excited to have this beauty. Red and black with matching red carbon Eidolic mini-XLR connectors, a black and red aluminum Y-split and the new black (and very light weight!) Eidolic 4-pin XLR termination.    Definitely the lightest...

    Audeze LCD-X

I haven't heard the new drivers (still rocking my early 2014 LCD-X), but that doesn't sound normal at all. I don't believe in burn-in, unless you consider mental burn-in/adjustment to the sound as the actual phenomenon (and I'm not trying to start an argument or go off-topic with that...

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread

I totally forgot to upload these unboxing pictures from a month or two ago. These are two IEM cables I received from Trevor. One is a re-terminated Therium IEM cable for my Shure SE-846.    I wanted to do this to give people an idea of the packaging and unboxing experience. It also shows off...

That Draug2 is sexy with the LCD-X.   A Draug2 makes any headphone look sexier.

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread

Jimah, that is a fair enough statement and your points are valid.   It could be that the emails were getting filtered incorrectly or something along those lines. This is why many people suggest PMing Trevor on Head-Fi, though I'm not sure if you've done this before.    No matter, I'm sure...
