Yeah I believe those are what LH Labs had indicated would be the retail pricing, not what indiegogo backers had paid.  I was interested in what indiegogo backers had paid for each of the tiers.   Cheers!

Anyone know what the final cost was on the various versions of the Vi DAC?  I can't seem to find anything online.  

People don't understand companies have other fixed/variable costs and that labour/material costs are a small fraction of the money a manufacturing company spends.

Why do we need to be cynical towards Massdrop. I'm more confident the reason these aren't sold as just cups is because the supplier, Fostex, is not an ear cup manufacturer. It would be unreasonable to expect Fostex to mass produced a bunch of cups unless there was a sizable margin for them...
