Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
I loved my time with the Bathys but ultimately the fact that ANC is always on with them drove me to return them. ANC is so fatiguing when it's not needed that I just found myself not using them for anything but travel, which made it hard to justify the price. It's a shame because the fact I can...- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Dumb question but you’re sure you have the Bathys on USB DAC mode? USB DAC mode shouldn’t be drawing any power at all, charging is disabled in that mode.- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Apples and oranges, Bathys solves a completely different problem. Sure they may be behind sealed headphones in pure performance in perfectly quiet environment, but the fact that I can listen to hi-res lossless with noise canceling on a flight or the subway with this kind of SQ AND that I can...- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Welp, pretty sure my two week old Bathys are toast. I just booted them up and the left speaker is crackling faintly. When I turn transparent mode on, that faint crackle becomes a loud crackle - seems like the noise canceling mics are shorted or freaking out. Still in the return window so they’ll...- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Man, I’d call myself an audiophile and the Bathys is nearly my perfect headphone. It has so much versatility - I can use it with my phone as a DAC walking around, wireless watching a movie on a flight, or plugged into my laptop at work with the SQ it provides is unmatched. The 5909 trump them...- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
For anyone else wondering this, I got a pair of Bathys today and they have very little thudding when walking / bone conduction / whatever you call it. Pretty happy with them so far.- hudhawk

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Which one had less footstep noise when walking? That’s a dealbreaker for me with headphones which unfortunately eliminates almost all the good ones.- hudhawk

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
Thanks all. After talking to ML support they’re going back. They likely would have anyway - I love how they sound but I get the dreaded footstep thuds when walking in them, which eliminates them as a daily commuter. Maybe all over-ear headphones suffer from this but I’m gonna try the Bathys next.- hudhawk

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
Just got an open-box pair of 5909s today. They sound and look amazing - but has anyone had issues with pops and clicks while using USB DAC mode? I’ve tried factory resetting, updating the firmware, and switching devices but I’m consistently experiencing pops and clicks during playback. Wondering...- hudhawk

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
One more question that I can’t seem to find the answer to: will the 5909’s DAC work when connected to the iphone via the CCK? Or does it draw too much power?- hudhawk

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
So for those who have them, would these be ridiculous to try and commute in? Are the large to the point of being cumbersome? Trying to decide between these, the Bathys, the PX8, and the MW75. Would be mostly for daily subway commute, listening at work, and several flights per year.- hudhawk

Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth & ANC Headphones: Early Impressions
So wait, does that mean that you can connect the Bathys directly to the iphone without using a CCK? I’m deciding between the Bathys and the Mark Levinson‘s and this feels like a pretty big checkmark in the Bathys’ favor.- hudhawk

Wireless headphones shootout (H8i, P7, PX, MW60, MW50, Momentum)
I haven't used the new pads so I can't compare, but to me the MW50s had slightly more resolving power than the MW60s, while still having that warm sound signature that I really like about the M&D cans. Leakage on the MW60s was minimal.- hudhawk

Wireless headphones shootout (H8i, P7, PX, MW60, MW50, Momentum)
Hey! Yeah, I think the MW50+ with the new over the ear pad design would be a great option. It's hard to know if the isolation will be good enough without hearing them, but they fixed every issue I had with the MW60 and you could probably make a case that they actually sound better than the 60's...- hudhawk

Wireless headphones shootout (H8i, P7, PX, MW60, MW50, Momentum)
Added the Sony WH-1000xm2's and got to spend some more time with the PX so I updated my review of those (and moved them down to the lowest spot on the list!)- hudhawk

Looking for over-ear, closed-back wired headphone recommendations
Hey all, After trying to find wireless headphones I could love, I've decided wired might be best for me for now. These headphones will be my daily commuters (and occassional travel headphones), so for me the keys are: great SQ (I prefer a warmer tonality), good isolation (so closed back only)...- hudhawk

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H8 (Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones)
Man, I just bought these and came to ask the same question. Absolute dealbreaker for what is otherwise the perfect wireless headphone - to me they sound better the B&W P7W and PX, but the thumping while walking is literally headache-inducing. Back they go. Has anyone used the H9i? Do they have...- hudhawk

TTVJ vs Pico Slim vs Furutech ADL Cruise
Has anyone had a chance to compare the TTVJ, Pico Slim, and the ADL Cruise? I've seen the multi-amp thread, which makes me think Pico Slim but the TTVJ looks really promising and the ADL looks really sexy. I'm mostly looking for something warm to compliment the neutrality of my...- hudhawk
