Ground loop issue with Zero and Stax
So I just received my Stax system today in the mail and I have it connected like this - computer -> zero dac -> stax amp. After listening to it for some time, I noticed that there was a hum coming from my phones, but if I touch the stax amp or the zero, the hum goes away. Is this a ground loop...- oofie810

Stax SRS-005a to complement HD650?
I've been enjoying my HD650 powered by a Little Dot MKIII for a while now and I'm thinking of buying the stax srs-005 that is currently for sale. I like the sound of the HD650 but I just can't help thinking that I'm missing out on the good sound of a Stax system. Am I right on this? How will...- oofie810

Garrard SL-50 TT, anyone heard of it?..turns out, it is the sl-65b
So I have a chance to get a Garrard SL-50 turntable for $25, owner said it "might" be working as he hasn't used it for a couple of years. Will this be a good beginner table? I searched the net and haven't really found anything on this particular model, although the Garrard name shows up often...- oofie810

Guy wants $40 for it which I don't know if its fair or what. What should I look out for when buying old turntables? How do I know if the...- oofie810

Ok, so I'm new to computer audio and don't really know what 16 bit, 24 bit or even 44.1khz is. Anyway, here's my situation, I have a macbook pro connected to an Onkyo (tx-sr504) receiver using an optical cable. I was able to download some 24bit/96kHz samples from one of the links posted...- oofie810

DT 880, K601 or HD600/650
So, I've been meaning to upgrade my old SR-80's that I've had since 2005. I'm looking at these 4 cans, DT 880, K601 or HD600/650. I'll be using them on a Zero amp/dac with my mbp as my source. I'm looking for something different from my grados so I can experience other sounds that the grado...- oofie810

iBasso D1 and what else?
I've sparked my love for music yet again after 2 years, so I guess it's time to upgrade/buy stuff from where I left off. I am using my Macbook Pro as a source, a PA2V2 amp and Grado SR-80s for my cans. Anyway, I've been reading again and seems like I want to get a DAC or a DAC/amp combo. I...- oofie810
