Beoplay E8
Thanks for the tip regarding the sound-stage setting. I had not even noticed this option. I like them much better now that I have maxed it out. I had found the E8s great on vocal and simple instrumental but thought they seemed confused with larger orchestral works and rock. Expanding the...- joncirca57

I will be interested to see which bore fits better. I think the Comply tips would be in the range of the wide bore. Or perhaps the plastic bore is flexible enough to stretch if you go with Normal?- joncirca57

JH Audio & Astell&Kern Siren Series Full Metal Jacket Line Announced!
Can't say I like the idea of aluminum instead of acrylic/CF. I have been holding off ordering, but thinking I should get my Angies while they are still plastic. I have a few CIEMs, but there are times where the softness of comply tips and a comfortable IEM designs (for me Shure or Westone) is...- joncirca57

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!
I saw that too, and actually wondered if it was a mistake on Amazon's part. Maybe they got the models mixed up.- joncirca57

1964 Ears
Just another data point: I bought V8s last year, and for me the right is not quite the same as the left. I did adjust to the feel. The left "disappears" immediatly, while I notice the right for a while after inserting. I decided not to send them back for a refit, as I could not really articulate...- joncirca57

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!
I remember driving all over town to try on the original Momentums just to find the ear cups were too small for me. . . looking forward to trying these on for size! My main use is travel, and these might be ideal.- joncirca57

Review: Estron Linum BaX --- New IEM Cable for a New Age
I have the BAX and really do not pick up a difference in tangle from the other cords I have. They all can be a pain at times. One plus for the BAX is a really useful cinch. When putting away, I try to remember to cinch it up to the CIEMs. This reduces the tangle factor a lot.- joncirca57

Review: Estron Linum BaX --- New IEM Cable for a New Age
My BAX just came today. As others have mentioned they are REALLY comfortable. I also like the very small 3.5mm jack--very case-friendly. I am using them on my old UE10Pros. I probably don't have a good enough source to pick up a difference in sound, but the difference in comfort is pretty...- joncirca57

yeah, it's a tough call. The clear looks great, but shows the green copper oxidation. The beige makes it look like a hearing aid. So it's either clear and replace once a year or black. I went back to black.- joncirca57

I also have dark blue with clear on the ones I purchased years ago. Nice look. But I think black is a little more current.- joncirca57

1964 Ears
Well, finally ordered a set of V8s. Since I have a set of transparent blue UEs, I wanted to go a little wilder on this pair. Lots of good photos out there, so decided on Teak . . . Transparent brown bodies, and a red tip to help me identify Right. (Initials are in Papyrus font. Thought it...- joncirca57

I think this looks great! Really like the colored translucent faceplate with clear. Regarding the cables, all of my clear have oxidized green. (Wonder if silver cables oxidize black or stay silver?) I finally got tired of it and went black, even though for a design like this I like...- joncirca57

1964 Ears
Just a comment on soft acrylic canals. I have not seen the 1964 version of soft canals, but I did have soft-canals on one pair of my Ultimate Ears back when they offered the option. I had one pair of UE standard and one pair of the UE soft-canals, both made from the same impressions. ...- joncirca57

Martin Logan Electrostatic vs Magnepan Planar Magnetic Speakers
Hi! I have owned both Magnepans and Martin Logans. Actually, the Maggies are made close to where I live here in MN. I realize both have their supporters. Personally, I preferred the MLs by a huge amount. I found them way more transparent, "smoother" and also to have radically better... -

Thanks! So many choices. For a change from my UEs, I am thinking solid black with initials. The choice is solid black acrylic, or solid black with wood faceplates. I saw a few photos of this look at their site. Hoping to get the OK on the impressions tomorrow.- joncirca57

1964 Ears
Finally think I have a set of impressions, so plan to order. I am thinking of the V8 to complement my more neutral UE10Pro. When flying, the bass on the UE gets lost in the background noise. A side benefit of the V8 might be that I could listen at lower volume. The UE10s need a certain level...- joncirca57

Congratulations! I was JUST about to order the V8s too, but had problems with the impressions! DOH. I have had ear impressions done twice in the past with no problem, but I think one ear was "stuffed up" so could not equalize pressure when they stuffed the foam plug down the canal . . ...- joncirca57

Things to consider before getting your custom IEM impressions done. The perfect fit.
An unusual experience . . . I had impressions done years ago for my UE CIEMs, so thought it would be a piece of cake again. So I went in a couple days ago, and they were not able to get the foam plug (first step of the procedure) far enough down in one ear without an excessive amount of...- joncirca57
