Surprisingly, the DC04 Pro on NOS mode sounds better than the RU6 on my IEMs. Plus there's no need to warm them up. Lol.

According to Cayin (see attached email), this is normal and is caused by the "mute circuit", deliberately muting the first 0.5 seconds of audio. This is a dealbreaker for me. Will try to return this.

No I didn't mention UAPP. I was using the RU6 on a windows PC.

Returned it after a day of listening. To my ears, the SA6 sounded $400 cheaper with this thing plugged in directly to my PC.

I mean, sound-wise? Will my SA6 sound inferior when used with the type-c plug instead of the DTC-500?

This is the only flaw I've observed so far. Audio is a direct upgrade from the UP4 it now sounds like a desktop DAC.

The volume knob is as crisp as usual (like the UP4) but the button on the left which is meant for play/pause is so flush and feedback doesn't exist. I think this is by design because the leather case also has a flat button. (see photo attached)

Just got the UP5. Still testing them out. Immediate noticeable flaw: The play/pause button on the left is so flush that the feedback is non-existent. Is this by design, or my unit has a broken button?

I hear no difference when using my IEMs. All my music are FLAC (not streaming).
