    Sound card and amp

Thanks, any reason for such a cheap amp considering my budget?   With regards to the audio + drivers, no onboard is not disabled but I have had no issues with conflicts, and yes I have the third party drivers installed, it is essential for Windows 10 since Asus haven't released fully working...

    Sound card and amp

I am looking at picking up a set of HD 650's to be used mainly with my PC, however upon reading up feel that am amp may be in order too (and potentially a sound card).   At the moment I have an Asus Xonar D2X, with a pair of CAL!2's plugged straight into it. I am in the UK, so if I had a £4000...

    Headphones broke... again

It is just from wear and tear, like everything else I own I looked after my headphones. The furthest they would travel is from my head to my desk :P. I never wrapped them up or pulled on them or anything like that.   It isn't so much the cable that is my problem, I have had el cheapo...

    Headphones broke... again

thank you for the reply. How do the CAL!2's stack up against the CAL!? I took a look through the master thread and there is a lot of talk about them having a similar sound to the CAL but with more bass. This I don't see as much of a problem, I can use the EQ to try and get a more neutral sound...

    Headphones broke... again

Thank you, but I would much rather have full size headphones than earphones. I don't particularly like in-ear earphones at the best of times, never mind using them for potentially hours at a time!

    Headphones broke... again

I have a pair of Creative Aurvana Live headphones which, two years on, have died. The right headphone no longer works because the wire has gone. They are the second set I have had in 4 four years that have done this. So now I am after another pair of headphones that aren't another set of...

    HA-RX900 Questions

The SRH-240's would be better than the JVC's?   For what reason, and would anyone else agree?

    HA-RX900 Questions

thanks for the reply,   however, as I said in the post, I don't care so much about the gaming sound, that is secondary, I would sooner have great sounding music and average gaming, than amazing gaming and mediocre music

    HA-RX900 Questions

So I am in the market for some new headphones, and again and again keep coming back to and considering these. I have looked at a few others, but everything being said (mostly on this site) says for the price, they can't be beaten.   So, I have a budget of ~£50, give or take a few quid. These...

Quote: Thanks for the reply :)   I would, however, sooner take sound over comfort. If I can get both over and above the £60 budget, I would save up further, or make money stretch to make it happen, but I don't particularly want to spend a whole lot more than that

As a PC gamer and music listener, I recently bought an Asus Xonar D2X, which was my first ever dedicated sound card (I'm a little ashamed to say on these forums :P), and the quality compared to integrated blew me away.   Now though, I want a decent set of headphones to go with them. They...

Are budget sound cards worth it?

Thanks for the reply.   Would anyone else say of the 3 the Xonar is the best option?

Quote: lmao I am active in computer forums, moderator on one of the larger ones and they are some awesome pics    I can't post my full current setup, no motherboard at the moment, been with Asus for nearly 2 months now (28 days my arse), so have a case with hard drives + PSU +...

Are budget sound cards worth it?

I'm in the process of getting my PC at least slightly sound worthy, less than 2 weeks into the year and already £200 spent upgrading yet again, with the cost still rising    I have ~£35 left over for the moment after case, hard drive and headphones for a sound card. Now I know that if you go...

    Budget Headphones

Thanks for the reply   How are we talking sound quality wise? I would sooner heave better sound quality than comfort, I can get some foam and ghetto mod it to get more comfort.   I was looking at some Sennheiser HD205-I yesterday, how would they compare to the JVC ones?   I've got...

    Budget Headphones

I'm looking for a set of headphones around £35, however, can, at a push, go up to £50 at the absolute most if it would make a lot of difference.   I'll be using them mainly for gaming and listening to music. I don't tend to listen to that much bassy stuff, however have got some in my music...

Hey,   I'm looking to buy a set of budget headphones for gaming and listening to music. I'm in UK and my budget is £50 at the absolute most, but I'm looking for around £35 or so ideally. If going over will mean much higher quality or more comfort, then I would be willing to pay more  ...
