Is there a general opinion for the best all around tube for the lyr+he500 combo? I'm looking for deep bass, lush mids, detailed highs, and a wide soundstage. The soundstage doesn't have to be too wide, I'd sacrifice that for the rest of the properties.

I'd try the V-moda m-80 if on-ear is ok with you. Nice bass presence and kick, and I don't have any problem running it out of my own android device(EVO 3D). Only one problem is isolation is not the best, and I have to usually crank volume 1-2 ticks from max to be at a comfortable listening level...

I have dreadlocks and I find that headband comfort is not really a big deal. You will find your hair will be a good buffer between the headband and your head. I have a pair of hd600s, I don't know how they compare comfort-wise to 280s, but they're far more comfortable than my 7506s. 

Don't know if anyone's said this, but perhaps the new feature is interchangeable shields that turn the headphone from closed to open?

Maybe possible bluetooth integration?

Anyone have any impressions of these w/ the nfb-12? Still debating getting the he-500s with the asgard/bifrost combo or the nfb-12.

Do you find that the Asgard drives it to it's full potential? Also, if you've heard the Lyr, what are the differences/trade offs? I'm still debating getting the asgard, lyr, or nfb-12.

I know this is the high end forum, but how about the Asgard?

Have there been any impressions of this amp with the HE-500? 

I also am curious to find a good amp/dac match to the he-500s. I've been told that these are power hungry. Anyone have any suggestions of amp/dacs that can supply this with sufficient power (1 watt at 38 ohms) while still having a good level of detail and soundstage?

Has anyone tried driving HE-500s with these? I'm curious to know if the burson can power these adequately.

Any word on if these come with velour pads?
