I just received my pair of Phiaton MS 300, and they seem like they would fit nicely for your needs. The bass is strong but not too overbearing and they definitely have that small form factor that rivals the Beats. 

I think that might be the easiest system for classification I have ever heard. I would love to see it be universally adopted into the audiophile community.
