Selling my Nuforce Icon HDP which served me well for 7 years! Original owner, don't have the box or the stand anymore. Power supply and USB cable included. I've used this unit as both Headphone amp, and mainly as a DAC for my vintage Marantz receiver. Still sounds fantastic, fully functional.- UteroiD

Interesting article I found about "Mastered for Itunes"
Just wanted to share and see what everyone thought... " Neil Young came right out and said what everyone was thinking while he was on stage at the AllThingsD media conference: iTunes music quality sucks. Way too much information is being lost between mastering a track in studio and... -
M-Audio bx5a newbie questions?
I have Bx5a deluxes and Z-2200 and actually i really like when they're playing together. I have a firewire 410 soundcard which has multiple outputs which enables me to play both of these together, i find that bx5a are a bit too harsh on highs yet very detailed, and z-2200s sound a bit muffled...- UteroiD

Does windows volume control alter voltage...
this is kinda related, I heard that lowering the volume in windows lowers the resolution of the audio, does that hold the same as lowering the volume on the player you're listening to? Should you always control your volume on the amp, receiver etc.?- UteroiD

I use winamp for quick file previews, it loads really quickly and when I'm browsing the OS, otherwise I use foobar.- UteroiD

DAC and amp needed to drive Sennheiser HD 600
have you looked into NuForce stuff? I have HD600s running with their Icon HDP and they sound fantastic, they're a bit higher than your price range, I can probably get a used one for 400, or you can get HD which doesnt have a preamp and is 100 bucks cheaper i believe.- UteroiD

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I have nuforce HDP going into my Marantz 2230 which I use with either HD600s or with B&W speakers. I think the combination works quite well, although in the future i'm hoping to get a 2275 or something of higher wattage in order to accommodate larger speakers.- UteroiD

Headphones to compliment Nuforce HDP
I use Sennheiser hd600's with my HDP and i think it's a great pairing. HDP drives them easily, I usually have my volume up a little over half. I listen to alt rock/classic rock/jazz/classical. I also tried it with my cheaper shure earbuds and those sound great as well.- UteroiD

Vintage Marantz receiver in a non vintage set up?
Hi Everyone, Currently I use my M-Audio firewire 410 soundcard going into Sony STR-D611 receiver into B&W 601s or Sennheiser HD600s, I also have a Pro-ject turntable going into the receiver. I was wondering if replacing my current receiver with something like Marantz 2230 will be a much...- UteroiD

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
I'm using my EF-2 with HD600's and i'm very happy with it. I still have the stock tubes, and only have been listening for about 3 weeks... but it drives them very well... i think EF2s tube sound compliments well 600s brightness.- UteroiD

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
Hey, I'm new to tube amps, just got the EF2. So far i'm pretty happy with it. I have it hooked up to my Firewire 410 cause i think the DAC in my FW is a bit better than the one in EF2, and it drives my HD600. My question is, if I were to upgrade to different tubes, is there any special...- UteroiD

m-audio firewire 410
hey, thanks for your reply... Do you have any suggestion for an amp in 350-400 range? Solid stat/tube? I was looking at PRO-JECT HEAD BOX SE II and HiFiMan Ef-5. Also, i noticed you own Sennheiser HD 600 and Denon AH-D2000, do you have any preference? I'm torn between those two headphones. I...- UteroiD

m-audio firewire 410
Hello, I was wondering if my Firewire 410 would be enough to power Sennheiser HD650 or headphones of that type. Also, do you think the DAC is good enough in FW410, or am i better off buying a separate DAC/AMP device? I really want to hear the true potential of these headphones... any help is...- UteroiD
