Braided 2-pin cables without memory wire?
From high-res photos on the net, the JH looks to have a non-braided section beside the memory wire, so no luck in cutting off the sleeve/wire there.- kwudude

Braided 2-pin cables without memory wire?
I have experienced quite a few types of IEM cables but none have been better than the cable that comes with the old Westone series (1, 2, 3, and 4). A list of advantages of those cables: Medium thickness and braided design prevents tangling Y-split, earphone entry, and jack entry all have...- kwudude

JH5 vs Custom Art Music Two vs Noble 3C ... etc
I have checked that page out - that's why the Noble 3C and JH5 are on my list. Just looking for opinions from those who may have tried multiple IEMS around this price range or have had a very nice experience with one.- kwudude

JH5 vs Custom Art Music Two vs Noble 3C ... etc
Hello all, I'm looking into my first pair of customs at a budget of ~$500. Currently I own: UE 700 - TWFK armatures, lacking bass extension and mids to me Westone 2 - lacking bass extension and body to me I like a very slightly V-shaped response and easy to drive IEMs because I don't want to...- kwudude

UE 700 Tips + MTPC = Brilliance
TF10 tips are very different from UE700 tips, entirely derivative in terms of structure. Also, I do wear my MTPC over-ear and at least for me they have a shallow-ish seal (even tested maximum insertion depth with no tips on!)- kwudude

UE 700 Tips + MTPC = Brilliance
Ah! Makes sense. I liked the Hybrids but for their lack of isolation, and stuffing foam in them probably helps. "Deep" insertion for the MTPC still isn't very deep though - I find my UE700s go in a LOT further due to their tiny, tiny shells. When the MTPC housing touches the rim of one's ear...- kwudude

UE 700 Tips + MTPC = Brilliance
So, I just got a pair of Turbine Coppers and I've experimented a bit with tips. I am a fan of sound quality, but spending ~1.5 hours on public transit each day makes isolation and comfort paramount. What I tried: Gel Supertips - Do not conform to ear canals. Achieved seals are temporary at...- kwudude

Nexus S + Voodoo Control
Go to voodoo and map volume keys directly to analog amplifier. Tick anti-jitter, hi-fi play, and DAC direct The end result of all that is minimizing any digital manipulation of the signal - I find it really helps to bring out the extreme frequencies (sub-bass and high treble) and significantly...- kwudude

Comfort, clarity, and bass (ck10, mtpc, um2)
I'm currently using a pair of UE700s. What I like: - clarity - isolation - tiny size / comfort - silicone (not unbearable foam) tips What I don't like: - no sub-bass "thump" - no bass decay - questionable build Searching for a replacement that keeps the pluses and fixes the minuses. I'm...- kwudude

Nexus S + Voodoo Control
It was a Moblicity special at Rizvi Electronics in Toronto. Some crazy plans too - $17.50 per month for unlimited talk/text/data. I really can't believe how good the sound is out of this though. It's a phone!- kwudude

Nexus S + Voodoo Control
Got a Nexus S a few days ago (for $280 CAD unlocked/new!). Stock sound was horrible. The first problem was that the lowest volume setting wasn't anywhere near low enough - Using my UE700s my ears hurt from the volume after a minute or so. The second problem was massive hissing. Stock...- kwudude

Comfortable headphones under $200 (Canada)
Hi guys, I'm looking for a pair of comfortable cans for home listening, preferably at least semi-closed because there's going to be background noise. They have to be VERY comfortable, because I wear glasses and significant pressure aches after a while. Currently I'm using SRH440s unamped, and...- kwudude

Review by 'kwudude' on item 'Ultimate Ears 700 Noise Isolating Earphones'
First off, these are ridiculously small for having dual armatures. UE's bundled silicone (gel-like?) tips are a very good match with these earphones - they have thicker than average flanges but are very flexible. What the tips and size add up to is an instant seal consisting of popping...- kwudude
