DIY Cable Gallery!!
I have a quick question about cable design. I'm making a 3 conductor power umbilical terminated in speakon connectors for my beta22 build (probably about 18"). For the cable, would braiding 3 wires together result in too much interference? Or would it be ok for that short of a length?- jeremyzone

So I'd like to make a 1/4" female-to-1/8" male headphone cable. The wire I've got is the Mogami 2534 so it has 4 conductors and a shield. Should I use 1 conductor each for Left and Right, then use 2 conductors for ground adding shield on the source end?- jeremyzone

Quote: The Mogami 2534 definitely has words printed on it. Every 12 inches, it says "NEGLEX 2534 MICROPHONE CABLE MOGAMI JAPAN" in white letters on my black cable. Based on pics online, I think the Canare L-4E6S also has words- jeremyzone

So I ordered a bunch of different heatshrink colors and sizes from the website recommended a few times in this thread AVoutlet.com It's been a headache dealing with them as the 1/2" clear size I wanted is definitely too small. I placed a pretty complicated order with multiple sizes...- jeremyzone

Thanks a ton for your help, csarrow and Fraggler! I was thinking of making one without shield on it. I know it's definitely far from being up to USB spec to do it that way but if it doesn't work well then I'll go back and make another one or whatever I need to get some pics off my...- jeremyzone

Hey guys, I'm thinking about trying to make my very first set of DIY cables. I'm getting the Schiit Magni/Modi this week and I was looking at their 20$ RCA interconnects but don't like how you need to use a rubber band to prevent the top unit from raising up! (example here with blue rubber...- jeremyzone

The Utah Meet & Greet, Sept 10, 2011. Be there!
Sounds great! Lots of great gear coming. I can make it on the 10th. I can't make it on the 3rd in case you're still wondering about that. It looks like the 10th was already decided though The only thing I can bring are Denon AH-D1100's, since that's all I've got now that I've sold...- jeremyzone

something must be wrong with my ear!! can't really tell the different between hd600 and dt-990 pro, help help
well i think that the hd650 is way better on classical/soft rock/rock than the dt990 premium. i keep both phones because i also like hip hop/r&b/rap, which sounds better to me on the dt990. the dt990 has more bass They're both good cans. So are you trying to say now that they sound different...- jeremyzone
