I don't want to splash out too much since i've only recently just bought the headphones. As i'm really new to this, i just wanna learn what an amp can do, so ive thought about buying the fiio. Also would it (the amp) increase the battery life of the iPhone (or any other DAP for that matter)...- oca

I'm not sure if I should invest in a portable amp or not, pretty new to all this. my DAP is an iPhone 3G and i've already recently purchased an Ultrasone HFI-780. from what i've read i may as well buy a cheapie portable amp Fiio - E5 Recommended? thank you for reading- oca

okay it looks like i cant find a competitively priced HT omega claro halo 250+, but i have gotten new quotes on prices: xonar DX - 110 (70 usd) xonar D2X - 205 (131.2 usd) xonar Essence STX - 249 (159 usd) is the jump from the dx to the d2x worth it as is from the d2x to the stx? h/w...- oca

yup sorry about that D2X is 250 AUD i could probably fork out that bit more for either the xonar D2X or STX essence, with the latter being recommended? how much of a difference would i find in having a headphone amp (ie. how much does it do?) also, any other recommendations?- oca
