Klipsch's NEW line of Reference X IEMs (X6i, XR8i, X12i, X20i)
Not a fan of the remote either and am looking forward to a non 'i' cableset though none seem to be available now from klipsch. Also, i feel the true weak point for the cable is where the cable meets the earpiece, thats the part that gets subjected to the most tugging force when removing it...- blackreplica

Klipsch's NEW line of Reference X IEMs (X6i, XR8i, X12i, X20i)
I compared my x10 to the x12 in the store as well. They sound exactly the same to me, going back and forth between them. I believe the differences are cosmetic (with later versions perhaps having better durability as well with the improved construction)- blackreplica

Klipsch's NEW line of Reference X IEMs (X6i, XR8i, X12i, X20i)
I just want to say that I demoed the x20i today. I listened to it alongside every higher end model from shure and westone (same price bracket) as well as the RHA t20 and of course my not so trusty x10 (bought cheap, but falling apart. I have another pair which stopped working after just one year...- blackreplica

Sydney Meet #3 impressions
heya people! What a great meet again, it was nice to see so many new faces attending the meet with so much new gear as well! I think dvse was the star of the show when he brought 3 stax systems + 3 amps + benchmark DAC1 with him yesterday Anyway here are my summarised impressions... -

RS2s directly out of an iPod nano
thanks for the help sum. the benchmark is something that really catches my eye, but the cost is prohibitive. I still wouldnt mind using it though, provided the headphone amp section is actually a good quality one (i've seen mixed reviews on the headphone amp part of the DAC1). 1000 for a DAC/amp...- blackreplica

RS2s directly out of an iPod nano
whoa i'm not even coming close to that price bracket! The most expensive DAC i would ever buy is in the Benchmark DAC1 range. But i am currently looking at the Headroom Micro DAC + Amp combo as the most likely purchase decision for me. The Micro dac looks fab, right price, right performance...- blackreplica

I think amping grados is wayyyy overrated. I run my PS-1 ampless (used to own 2 amps, one a V.A.L E10 and the other a SM V3) and dont miss my old amps at all. The only time an amp really wowed me on my PS-1 was when i had it on a Melos SHA-1. Now THAT was pretty impressive. But thats a full size...- blackreplica

Battle of the extincts: PS-1 vs L3000
The source was just a regular cd player and my iriver H140 (flac lossless). I did not use an amp with either the PS-1 or the L3000. In my opinion, neither need one. I can just imagine the hordes of fanboys who will come in now and scream "you need an amp for them to sound good!!!!" . I...- blackreplica

Battle of the extincts: PS-1 vs L3000
I guess you could say i am a lucky person. I am priviledged to own a PS-1 (for a couple of months now). And a friend of mine recently bought an Audio Technica L3000. I've been listening to them 'semi long term' everytime we meet up in uni, but i finally managed to get him to lend em to me for a...- blackreplica
