Amazon "Kindle" - anyone buy/try one yet?

I've been involved with these things since the original RocketBook (which I still have) and have the Sony PRS-505 which, like the Kindle, has an excellent e-ink display. The long awaited Kindle 2 was released on February 24, and I must say it's a definite step forward for the whole ebook...

What Headphones Are You Using Right Now?

Just my boxers! Ooops, sorry, wrong site. Damned tabbed browsers again. How about Beethoven's Octet (he only did one) via DT990s.

Among my favorite cans is the DT990. I'm really surprised how similar the W3 sounds in comparison. Does anyone else have both?

Westone 3's and the Sibilance/Tips Issue

In the end it's always the same. We buy gear hoping that it will suit our tastes and, if it doesn't, we move on to other choices. But I don't think we should bend over backwards to avoid contentious responses. What a bland place this would be if we did that. Should someone proclaim that all...

Sennheiser HD800: Spray Painted Plastic and the New Acid-Washed Jeans.

I haven't read the entire thread so excuse me if this has been brought up, but are we even certain about their construction? I recall some of the same complaints about the SA5000 which listed for half the HD800's MSRP. Turns out their "painted plastic" is actually magnesium.

Old Fart asks - where's the new King Crimson?

You guys make me feel fortunate. My preference has always been tightly centered around classical and jazz and has never been better served than it is today. I'm totally clueless about most of the current stuff, some of which hardly qualifies as music to me. Sounds stodgy, eh?
