Upgrading from the SR225i... looking for some advice :)

I have a pair of Grado SR225is that I purchased back in 2009 and a LittleDot I+ tube amp. I love the Grado sound and I am looking to upgrade my headphones. I was originally interested in the RS2i but I am curious about the new PS500. What does Head-Fi think? How do the RS2i and the PS500 compare...

    Coinstar is amazing

Yeah, so I gathered up the massive accumulation of change I had around the house and took it all to the local Coinstar this afternoon. I wasn't expecting too much, maybe $40? After I fed everything into the machine, it just kept going on and on as I watched the cash pile up. Much to my...

    HELP! Tube Firecracker!

WHY?! Earlier this night I decided to fire up my Little Dot I+ with sylvania gold tubes and listen for a bit. However, a few seconds after I flipped the switch, the left tube lit up and I heard a loud popping sound from the headphones. I immediately turned the amp off and inspected the tube...

Which albums would you love to see on MoFi?

...or any other audiophile label? Personally, I would love to see Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory and Tool's Lateralus on the UltraDisc SACD. Both albums are simply amazing, no doubt, but they could be so much better! Metropolis suffers from a bit of compression, and...

    Question about gold tubes...

I have found that there are two types of sylvania gold tubes. The first type has the GoldBrand labeling and box, but the pins are not gold. The second does not have the GoldBrand labeling or box, but the pins are gold. Which one sounds better? (these are 408a tubes for a LDI+)

    Little Dot I+ Questions

I've had my little dot i+ for a few days now. I upgraded the stock tubes with NOS sylvania 408a's. The tubes sound great, but there is some hissing and crackling noise in the left channel only. The hissing sound is a constant volume, so increasing the volume on the amp does not increase the...

Beatles Remasters vs Dr. Ebbett's Needledrops

I just thought we could share our thoughts on the new Beatles remasters released yesterday. I picked up Abbey Road today (I ordered the Mono boxset, but I won't be shipped 'till october ) and I decided to compare the new release with my Dr. Ebbetts version. Comparing the first track, Come...

    Recommended Amp for Grado 225i/325i?

I have a pair of Grado 225i's that I adore to death. I have heard magic happens when Grados are amped (specifically by a tube amp) and I am greatly intrigued. I have done a little research and found a few brands, but I would like to hear other opinions too! My price range is around $250-$300...
