Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Maybe the files have been flagged as invisible. There is a free Mac utility called Onyx. Click on this link and choose the version, for your macOS. Install and go to menu option 'Files' and then File 'Visibility'. Once, all files are visible, mount your QP2R and see if the invisible music files...- chawya22

I'll just continue to use my Shure SE585 with the Balanced Cable I have. The original goal was to limit the possible stress from lateral movement, the straight 2.5 balanced plug puts on the balanced 2.5 jack. Thanks for the suggestions.- chawya22

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I wasn't clear but what I want is a right angled balanced 2.5 (Plug or Adapter) so, the signal will remain balanced, not to convert balanced to single ended.- chawya22

The Astell & Kern AK240
Does anyone know of a right angled 2.5 balanced plug? I have a cable for my Shure SE585, that terminates to a 2.5 straight balance plug and works fine with my 240. My only concern is, the already fragile 2.5 configuration, made even more fragile, with the straight plug sticking out of the...- chawya22

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I was part of the group that had their 1R sent to China for repair last year, because of the battery issue. Mine was also in pristine condition before the repair. Not only was it returned, in the same condition as sent but it still had all my music in internal storage. The loaner (Referb?) I was...- chawya22

Speaking from personal experience, I would be very wary of the additional heat and make sure the 240 has lots of ventilation, when in use or charging. I know I'm stating the obvious but Lithium batteries are definitely scary technology.- chawya22

The link was broken but I did a search and found this. Is that the correct one? Looks like it's plug and play, which is excellent. No soldering needed. I'm sure all will appreciate your info.- chawya22

I'm sure other owners, will be happy to hear, that a third party battery is available. If my hadn't gone gone critically ill, I would have loved to do the work my self and save time and money. Can you supply the link and price, so others can take advantage?- chawya22

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I didn't have a battery problem, when I first purchased my 1R and I don't remember the problem turning up, for at least a couple of years. What ever triggered it, the point is, it was fixed.- chawya22

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I would love to see an update to the OS but all devices, regardless of the manufacturer, are eventually orphaned. The support that I and a few other QP1R owners received, was sending our devices back to China, to repair the battery indicator problem. Mine was way out of warranty but the needed...- chawya22

Directly through iRiver/Astell&Kern. My battery went into thermal runaway and I sent my 240 to iRiver and they sent the player to Korea. Quite a long journey but they provided 1st class customer service.- chawya22

I just had my 240 battery replaced a few months back and I still average about 6hrs of listening time per charge. As @jwbrent stated, file type plays a huge factor, in play time per charge and I also think, it's just the nature of the beast.- chawya22

One other thing you may try is, deleting the finder plist file. If you go to the 'GO' menu dropdown, in the finder and hold down the option key, you'l see you now have a 'Library' option. Click on Library and navigate to the Preference folder. in that folder look for 'com.apple.finder.plist'...- chawya22

I also have a MBP, running Mojave10.14.2 and I'm not having any problem. You might want to try resetting the PRAM and also SMC, on your Mac and see if that helps. Follow this link SMC/PRAM for instructions, if you don't already know how to do it. Good Luck.- chawya22

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I am 100% with you on the battery issue and reverting to an earlier FW. After a round trip to China for the QP1R, now the indicator is working and easy to decipher how much actual play time I have on a charge (not important to some but important to me). Chasing a sound difference from a previous...- chawya22

I'm not sure what iRiver email address you're using but the one I've received next day replies from is support.inc@iriver.com. I recently received my 240 back from repair and the support is topnotch.- chawya22

After the first overheating and cooling, the back panel popped back into place. After the second and at the time I shipped it to iRiver, the back panel was bulging out but didn't seem permanently deformed so, I assume it was OK. It also wasn't listed on the invoice. As for the Volume Encoder...- chawya22

The Astell & Kern AK240
Well, I have my 240 back again. It took about 6 weeks, whereas the original estimate was 2 to 3 weeks. The delay was due to, an unplanned trip, back to Korea. iRiver was very concerned about the near catastrophic failure and wisely decided to send it back to the factory. While there, inaddtion...- chawya22

InnerFidelity has an overview and MSRP. What is interesting is, the mention of a FW release for older models but didn't specifically say, if the 240 will be included. Maybe I'll have an updated toy, once my player is returned from being repaired.- chawya22

I've got a question for anybody who's more knowledgable than I. I was about to get my 240 ready to ship and noticed something concerning in the RMA form. iRiver/AK requires credit card info be supplied with the RMA form and they further state, the repair will be put on hold, if the CC isn't...- chawya22

I didn't include the part of the email where the final cost will need my approval, before work is started. No Carte Blanche on my watch. As for the cost of the battery, the old axiom "What the market will bear" applies, IMO. The thing that disturbed me was, $80 for a Carbon Fibre and plastic...- chawya22
