Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
I just recently bought a Soundblaster G6 and I'm a bit confused as to whether or not it's actually set up properly. I'm using it on my PC with SBX turned on and 7.1 enabled in the Creative settings, but the Dolby light never comes on. In Resident Evil 2, I've tried using all of the different...- Drizz1e

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
A question for you Switch owners: I am aware that the Switch doesn't support Dolby Headphone (I think Dolby Pro Logic II is supported?) and has no optical input. I use an HDMI audio extractor that allows me to connect the console to the mixamp via optical and the HDMI cable is connected to an...- Drizz1e

NEW! Fostex TH610 Premium Reference Closed-Back Headphones
610 pads do indeed have a slightly wider opening for your ear. The height and depth are the same.- Drizz1e

It probably has to do with the wood drying out and changing the dimensions. Tyll talks about it here:https://youtu.be/BR_Ug-1dZVU?t=594- Drizz1e

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
The Dekoni X00 pads are probably not going to be your thing, either. The opening is small so I'd guess that the soundstage would be compromised. Your ears might also have problems fitting the pads.- Drizz1e

I've stretched it so much that the elastic band holding the headband in place actually came loose at one point. Pretty sure I'm at the limit. I think the issue is due to the lack of headband padding more than anything. That's where all of the pressure seems to be. The odd thing is that I when...- Drizz1e

That's a shame. I don't know if it's worth buying an amp because I wouldn't be able to use it with my laptop (they're pretty far away from each other). I don't listen to music that much but I still don't know if I can justify the cost in that case. Really, I'm just trying to find something...- Drizz1e

Has anyone tried running the K7XXs with only the mixamp? I'm wondering if an amp is needed if they're only used for gaming.- Drizz1e

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I know this isn't directed at me, but I also own both. The X00s have much better bass extension and also less recessed mids with more treble. Some find the treble a bit fatiguing on the X00s but it's never bothered me. You will be trading some soundstage and imaging, but other than that, the...- Drizz1e

You'll need a 1/4'' to 3.5mm adapter like this. I think Grado makes one also. Just don't use one of those screw-on ones or you'll probably end up breaking the headphone jack.- Drizz1e

The cups are what I was mainly referring to. They're well built of course but the cup themselves get scratched very easily. I've heard of someone dropping theirs from less than a foot onto carpet and getting a scratch. I think outside you're just inviting random chance for something to happen to...- Drizz1e

For indoor use it'll probably be fine as long as you have a good case and take care with how you pack it (make sure the plug won't come into contact with the cups because it will nick them. I wouldn't dare use them outdoors though. They don't isolate from outside noise enough, on top of the...- Drizz1e

I definitely wouldn't take the X00s outside. They're not the most durable headphones, and the cups are very easy to nick. Just seems like a bad idea all around- Drizz1e

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
They're made from the same protein leather and feel exactly the same. The only difference is the wider opening for your ear. I couldn't hear any difference between them and the stock pads, but keep in mind that I didn't listen critically. I think I remember @Eudis saying that the 610 and...- Drizz1e

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I think the pre-production TH-610s may have originally had the X00 pads. This was one of the pictures floating around after it was announced: The 610 pads I bought are definitely the old Denon style, though. Stock pad on the left and 610 on the right:- Drizz1e

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
The 610 uses pads that are nearly identical to the old Denon Dx000 pads, actually. The opening is a bit wider than the X00's but the height is the same.- Drizz1e

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
After swapping pads, I've noticed that the foam tuning ring on my X00s is slightly out of place on both sides. I've tried to rotate it to align with the screws, but I can't get it to work and I don't want to ruin anything. Anyone have experience with this? @fjrabon @Whitigir- Drizz1e

Does anyone know if the Teaks with Teak cups are actually the same weight as the TH-X00 mahoganies? I'm interested in them but I don't think I'd want anything heavier than the X00 mahoganies, unless it's only by a little.- Drizz1e

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
How would I go about tightening the screws that hold the cups to the gimbals (I think that's what it's called)? I'm referring to this: One of the screws on the right cup of my X00s is slightly loose and has been since I got them. It hasn't been an issue yet but I'd rather not take a...- Drizz1e
