Quote: they lack bass impact. i at least would enjoy some bass. i'm not a bass head or anything. i don't mind open, but semi-open preferred. closed is too... strange. unless there is a closed that can offer an open like sound (i doubt it).- bmou

Quote: eh my room acoustics aren't too great, i just like the spaciousness of the seperation like everything has a lot of room to breathe. given my previous headphones, does that help to make any recommendation on what headphones to get? i listen to all genres, just anything i can get my...- bmou

hi i have been through plenty of headphones, (ATH-AD700, SkullCandy Aviators, K550, K701 and currently K240 studio), but recently i've acquired some Klipsch RB-51 II speakers and would like some headphones that sound like them. they are a horn loaded speaker, so i don't know what that would...- bmou

50% Off Skullcandy... Worth It Yet?
Aviators for $75 is a ridiculous steal. i used to own a pair and they lasted me through a lot of travels and had a great sound signature for all around. of course, when you look at the money you're putting down, you have to realize what kind of trade off you're getting. don't expect bands to...- bmou

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Quote: i just read your write up on the comparison between the two and the only thing i can really see myself liking a bit more about the HE400 is the ease of amping, but even then i plan on upgrading my amp source anyway, so doesn't make too much a difference. good read, btw. i don't...- bmou

thinking of getting a pair of these headphones for christmas. the most upscale i've ever had are Beyerdynamic DT 1350 portables which i drive off of nothing but whatever source i plug them into. my home headphones are ATH-AD700s. so i'm looking to upgrade. i run those through iMac -> E17 & E10...- bmou

Quote: oh sweet! i might give it a go if i'm feeling lucky one day. good to know the Beyers will perform in both areas, but i understand what you mean about the openness. i'm using ATH-AD700's at home, but they're equalized to make up for the lack of bass. they sound fantastic now, but...- bmou

Quote: really nice! where did you get that see through body for your iPod? i don't think i'm comfortable enough to try to do something like that to mine but it looks great. how would you say the Beyer's fair in a home use environment? i'm trying to use them a portable and home solution...- bmou

Quote: not a bass head, so that's not a problem. i think any headphone would give me more bass than the AD-700, and that'd be fine. i enjoy the punch the PortaPros can deliver and i know for sure those aren't bass heavy. so do you have any recommendation based on the information...- bmou

currently am the owner of Audio Techno ATH-AD700. got them on sale and i enjoy them, but the fullness of the bass is obviously completely gone. Not to say I'm a bass head, but I enjoy it being at least semi-there. that said, I've also owned Koss PortaPros, Skullcandy Aviators, and JVC HA-M750 in...- bmou
