Try auditioning before buying, it'll save you a lot of guess work and reduce the risk of buying something you don't enjoy. Asking only gets you so far because everyone's ears are different. :)- Ronnietron

So a few days I received my WA6 amplifier and might I just say: It sounds amazing with the HE-560! Great pairing overall that is quite well balanced. I also got the sophia but I'm loving the sound from the stock rectifier tube so much I am not bothered to change it right now- Ronnietron

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Well, I'm happy to say that I am now a proud owner of a WA6 with the Sophia Electric rectifier tube upgrade. :) But as of now I'm loving the sound from the stock rectifier tube!! Amazing unit... I have yet to try the Sophia, but I think I will do so much later on. I'm enjoying the music far too...- Ronnietron

Well don't worry man, depending on your equipment setup sometimes the slightly warmer sound of the WA6 may be better ;)- Ronnietron

As long as the amp is slightly warm it'll pair very well with the HE-560. That's the advice I received from a hifi shop in Melbourne called Addicted to Audio. :) I hope the pair works out for you my friend!- Ronnietron

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
I'll be joining the club too very soon :) I will either be getting the WA6 or WA6-SE for my HiFiMAN HE-560. I have auditioned the WA6 while I was in Singapore and absolutely loved it, but now I'm back in Sydney and I don't have a chance to audition the WA6-SE the only store stocking Woo Audio...- Ronnietron

To Amp or not to Amp
Ps. Rolls Bellari's headphone amplifier isn't known well yet because no big name reviewer magazines or persons have tried it.. But I have a feeling when they do it'll blow them away for the price. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- Ronnietron

To Amp or not to Amp
If you're in Sydney Australia I'm happy to let you hear it :) Yep, WooAudio make amazing tube amps. Funny enough I'm upgrading from my HA540 to a WooAudio WA6. They are a more costly option though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- Ronnietron

Bought the HE-560, looking at WooAudio for an amp upgrade
That's true, but everyone I email for help (including WooAudio themselves) told me the sonic signature of the two amps are very similar but the SE version surpasses the WA6 in "dynamics, more effortless sound, and bigger sound [stage]". So that means if I enjoyed the WA6 so much, I will enjoy...- Ronnietron

To Amp or not to Amp
Through my personal experience and researching online, there isn't really a "tubey" sound to all of them. I believe the tubey sound people always refer to is very relaxed, layed-back, and slow. Some tube amps are actually very fast and more solid-state-like in presentation with more detail in...- Ronnietron

You want bass performance testing - Try Rimshot by Erykah Badu. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zwgh11iB44) I have the CD and it's amazing at testing bass.. This youtube version is so crap lol anyway, the bass section at 1:00 really goes deep and is quite textured especially on the HE-560...- Ronnietron

Bought the HE-560, looking at WooAudio for an amp upgrade
Hi all, Before purchasing the HE-560 headphone I auditioned it with the WooAudio WA6 in a shop in Singapore. I loved the realistic sound and openness that amplifier produced. My question is, for nearly double the price, is the WA6-SE a big step up in performance compared to the WA6? And...- Ronnietron

Well the amp I have, despite only outputting 500 mW/channel has a tonne of gain... 35 dB!! lol so volume for me with this amp is no trouble at all. Just the spaciousness sounded much better with the WA6 I tried it with in the store. Maybe I'll have to audition the amp again in a shop here in...- Ronnietron

Thanks for your reply mate. :) you're right.. Looking through this thread I do seem to see people saying 1-2 Watt per channel is needed to drive this 'phone to its fullest. Hmmm.. then what could it be.. The amp I have uses a conventional switching power supply, and I am in the process of...- Ronnietron
