Hello, I am new to this forum so I'm sorry if I make some mistakes, but I'd like some help with choosing some headphones, I am a big fan of Sennheiser headphones for their audio quality and because their one of the few headphone brands that don't give me a headache, I will be using these headphones for a mix of music and gaming but more gaming. I own a pair of HD 558's and would like to get either the Sennheiser HD 598's but I've heard they have poor bass (please correct me if I'm wrong, this is an important part to me), and the Sennheiser G4me ones, but I've heard that their audio performance isn't as good and you pay a lot for the mic (I don't much care for the mic since I have a Blue Yeti for that). Somebody please help me make a decision as to what's better for my needs, (money is not an issue) as I think that the people on these forums or more experienced than me. Thanks in advance for any answers.

The HD558 and HD598 use the same 50-Ohm drivers.
Have you removed the black rubber tape from inside the cups of the HD558s.
The black rubber tape covers about 40% of the air holes, so removing the tape makes the HD558s more open.
What sources are you plugging the HD558s into (DAC/Amp)?

Here is a aftermarket cable (1.2m to 3m) for the HD558/HD598 that comes with a 3.5mm plug.

Yes I have done the rubber mod, but I still wish to upgrade and they will sadly be plugged into onboard motherboard audio, is it worth it to get the G4me one over the HD 598, and most importantly to me, does the HD 598 lack bass compared to the G4me one and HD 558?

I really do not know a lot about the G4ME, but my two cents is I do not think you will get much, if any improvement, getting the HD598 or G4ME, over the HD558.
I would think (assume) your current HD558 sounds almost exactly like the HD598.
I would say to invest into a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card ($90-$105), I would assume it would offer an improvement, over on-board audio.
What is the make and model of your motherboard?

+1 to replacing onboard audio.  A sound card like the Sound Blaster Z is good if you want virtual surround in your games, but if you don't care for that then another option would be an external amplifier and DAC.  Either one would be a noticeable improvement for you.

Many headphones give me headaches do to comfort issues and many hurt my ear cartilage, I know that I will not get much improvement but my HD 558's are somewhat worn out and I am looking to purchase better headphones and as such I am wondering which of the two is better for my needs, also I need to know if the HD 598's lack bass, and my motherboard is an ASrock z87 extreme3.

Are the HD558 ear pads worn out?
The SB-Z should offer at least a little improvement, over the ASrock Z87 Extreme3's ALC892 audio chip-set.

Its just generally worn out, I would also like to know about the bass on the HD 598's as judging by some reviews its been criticized for lack of bass, id like to know if their is any truth to this as it is a key concern if i decide to go with the 598's.

The HD598 has bass, but it's a lighter bass.
