“Beats by Dr. Dre”
I've been able to check out a load of Beats by Dre headphones when me and my friends had some fun in a local electronica store just checking out the big 3D TVs and such. They had a headphone section with a surprisingly half-decent selection of headphones. But to my surprise, I don't know what...- SandvichDISH

Flat sound vs. "fun sound"...so flat isn't fun?
My HD 600 server me just fine with any genre. And I think that headphone is consider pretty flat. However, I can live with my M50s just fine too. They have that V-shape, but "flat" vs "fun" really depends on what you want to hear. Aside from listening to music, I use my HD 600 for producing...- SandvichDISH

"Mad Dog" by MrSpeakers, modified Fostex T50RP review
These look beastly, I would buy them if I had money to spare and needed more headphones :P Maybe in the future.- SandvichDISH

Most overrated headphones?
I own a pair of M50s that I use every day, but when I look at the way they are described by some people I would consider them way overrated. They sound very good if you ask me, but they're uncomfortable and don't outperform any headphones twice the price. It's absurd to suggest that.- SandvichDISH

Show us your vintage headphones!
Dunno if this really counts, but my dad has had an original DT770 for 20-ish years now. I can post pics if you want but it's pretty straight forward :P- SandvichDISH

Need recommendation for open headphones. ~300$ budget
I can vouch for the HD 600, but since it's the only headphone I own in that price range I can't give much comparision. I think my HD 600 sounds absolutely amazing and I would strongly recommend it. Mighty comfy too.- SandvichDISH

Headphone Sightings 2
I've spotted the Philips citiscape uptowns numerous times on the bus, and one of my classmates has a Senn HD202, and another a XB500 and 700. (He likes bass). Also I do see a lot of Beats, but eh... Edit: Just remembered, I've seen a lot of HD201's for some reason. There's a shop in...- SandvichDISH

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Cables are very much something I would only spend that much money on if I had too much money and everything else in my rig was already as good as it could possibly be. I think dropping $155 for a cable is a bit overkill personally. In other news: My Objective2 is set up and ready to go...- SandvichDISH

Accidentally overcranked hd600...help
I like VLC, but I hate the ability to go over 100%. It just sounds terrible. And since they mapped the volume to the scroll wheel I might have VLC on my secondary screen and not realize it's still selected, I try to scroll up/down on a website and I end up changing the volume. I don't like...- SandvichDISH

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Currently rocking my HD 600 from a FiiO E17, but my Objective 2 case should arrive any minute now to complete the build so that I have AMPle (worst pun ever) power for this lovely pair of cans. But even from my E17 they sound pretty dang good. Way better than my old Alessandro MS1i or my ATH-M50!- SandvichDISH

NEWS: Beats in a lawsuit with Yamaha
I think looking like Beats might have some negative side-effects too. For instance, with so many cheap knock-offs lying about, would the target audience (teenagers) not avoid wearing these very obvious copies because they might otherwise be called out for having "fake" Beats?- SandvichDISH

NEWS: Beats in a lawsuit with Yamaha
It's obvious what Yamaha is trying to do here. But personally I find it hard to justify lawsuits over similar looking designs. Creativity, in reality, is little more than iteration of what you've already seen / heard. Of course it's obvious that here the only big "inspiration" is the Beats...- SandvichDISH

An experiment in lossy vs lossless A/B testing
Sorry for being late! I was a bit distracted by life stuff and didn't check head-fi for a while. But I'll gladly give this test a go, if I could at the minute. I am waiting for my Objective2 as I had some amp trouble with my new HD 600 (trouble being, my E17 seems to have decided it doesn't want...- SandvichDISH

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Meu, you know what, send me some A/B/X (or just unlabeled A/B if it's less effort) files of some Amon Tobin ISAM tracks if you want. I was just listening to it again and decided to waste my time on your experiments- SandvichDISH

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: I don't really know how to describe audio in words too well as I'm not much of a veteran in this regard, and English isn't my first language. But I don't mean that these details don't exist in lower quality codecs and bitrates, but I just find that they are more refined, defined and...- SandvichDISH
