When I had the 1A, Mr Walkman firmware wasn't available then.So can't comment on that change. I had the un-modded 1A and the K-mod 1A. I couldn't get along with both of them. Whereas 1AM2 was a instant like and with 100 hours, 200 hours and so on, it only got better & better. The DSEEHX is also...- linux4ever

I agree that 1AM2 is far ahead of 1A. And 1Z is a very good option to consider. Also Sony ZX707 is another excellent option. Between 1AM2, ZX707 and the older 1Z, there are different tunings to enrich the audio journey.- linux4ever

For folks that like the sound of Sony WM1Z, please give Sony ZX707 a listen. More compact & lightweight form factor, without compromising much on the sound. A wonderful DAP to take with you on your travel, commute to work or to Gym.- linux4ever

Completely agree with the sound analysis and fit issues with universal model. Hence switched to customs and have no fit issues.- linux4ever

Lavricables are good ones. Even though they're silver cables only, they don't sound like a typical silver cable and has the lushness of copper cables with good extension in the highs. Another under-appreciated item in head-fi- linux4ever

Cayin N30LE + PW Audio Orpheus Shielding + Nostalgia Audio Camelot is very very good. Camelot is severely an under-appreciated iem.- linux4ever

When implemented nicely, it definitely is. and is not a gimmick. FIR's kinetic bass implementation and Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor are the ones that I've heard. They're definitely worth it and sounds excellent.- linux4ever

Yes. the dynamic driver emits sound through a large opening on the shell and thus achieves both air conduction (like a normal iem) and bone conduction. so there's leakage of sound from the iem to out. I haven't noticed outside sound leaking in. That part of the isolation is fine (at least to my...- linux4ever

Yes. they're very good sounding iems. However, the original retail price of $4500 is too high. It plays in the $3000-$3500 price range. And can get it in the classifieds for $2100-$2500 which makes it an excellent value.- linux4ever

One of the just right BA/EST iem with DD is Nostalgia Audio Camelot. And it's twice the fun with 2 DD and they sound so good. I would recommend everyone give it a listen and hear for yourselves on how good this iem is ($2079 in like new condition from MusicTeck is the icing on the proverbial cake)- linux4ever

Congrats. I've them both and they truly are awesome. Also both can exist together in a collection. They open up a lot after 200 hours. 1AM2 is very good and a step-up from 1AM1. But in terms of resolution, 1Z is still slightly ahead.- linux4ever

With Eletech Raphael or Moon Audio Bronze dragon cables, Maestro SE sounded very balanced without losing the Sub-bass. Multiverse Mentor doesn't need any burn-in. I pair mine with PW Audio Orpheus Shielding and these two have very good synergy. Source is Sony WM1Z- linux4ever
