The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value
These are flat plate measurements, which can’t really be reliably used as well as a HATS measurement- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
I think this is precisely why this hobby can be so annoying for me. This hobby has gotten to the point where it’s almost not weird to see a headphone cost over $2,000 and I’ve yet to hear a headphone in that tier that was good enough that it really made sense for it to cost that much. Cost is...- slooploop

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
That’s almost just as concerning; the HD600 has displaced a lot of flagship headphones for me because it sounds so correct in many ways that other headphones aren’t that if the going back to the HD600 sounds off after using the T5p2, then it must be incredibly colored.- slooploop

Monolith M1070 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphones
The problem with initial reviews is that everyone wants to find a giant killer or be the first out with a review so they may overlook certain things. I bought the M1060 because people said it was basically a cheaper Audeze and it really disappointed me because it wasn’t.- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
Yeah, I’ve been waiting to see them drop below $1k. I don’t have many opportunities to try things so my only option has been to wait to buy things for cheap used and sell for around the same price when I realize I hate it, haha. The 007 really was an interesting headphone. I think I tried to...- slooploop

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
Is the T5p2 different from the T5p? I bought a T5p and sold it within a day because it legitimately sounded like an AM radio. I thought it was just a bad unit but I heard another one and it sounded pretty similar.- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
I was considering a T8ie because I wanted subbass, but the way you describe the Z1R is basically my ideal sound signature for an IEM. Maybe I should just bite the bullet on a used one if my listening uses change. I actually bought a UERM earlier this month and when I was cleaning, I realized I...- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
I think that’s fair; I really, really want to hear the IER-Z1R because I’ve heard so many good things about it and I’d take the EX1000 over the limited >$1000 IEMs I’ve heard. But as far as over ear headphones go, it’s so disappointing to hear systems cost more than a new car still sound so...- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
The HEDDphone looks interesting. The Susvara has some of that hazy treble quality which is a big reason I prefer the HE6 on big speaker amp (I haven’t heard a headphone amp do them justice), which has less of that. But really, this struggle is why I’ve given up on finding the perfect headphone...- slooploop

Monolith M1070 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphones
The impedance looks different from the M1060C so they’re probably a new driver. I like the new headband, it looks too close to Focal’s though.- slooploop

Do Sennheiser HD 598 and HD 598 SR share the same ear pads?
Yes they do.- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
Ah I must have missed that, they do sound a little metallic. Other than that, the only headphone I can think of with similar impact is the Hifiman HE6, which I preferred to the Susvara, but it’s a little bright and metallic sounding itself.- slooploop

Recommendations for a summit-fi headphone
Have you considered a Utopia? It’s not nearly as flabby as other dynamics and has a lot of tactile impact, probably in part because it’s not so warm like the Z1R or Empyrean.- slooploop

Please recommend headphone/s upgrade around $500 budget
If you want something different, the 600ohm Beyerdynamic DT880 is an interesting option. The DT1990 also exists but I didn’t think the price difference was worth it and in some situations the 1990 sounded stuffier. I’d also recommend saving up for an Elex or perhaps buying a used one though.- slooploop

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
I bought and returned the Elegia because it sounded Grado-levels of harsh if not more. Could I have been fitting them the wrong way?- slooploop

Please recommend headphone/s upgrade around $500 budget
What changes do you want? There isn’t much around that price that’s really an upgrade, more like a sidegrade for more money- slooploop

Top non-US headphones?
If you like the KSC75 most you probably want more forward upper midrange than the HD58X has and there’s a good chance no amp will change that. You might want to look into swapping the HD58X for an HD600 as the difference in midrange presentation is very noticeable.- slooploop

Grado WH1 'The White Headphone'
I love how these look! If these are anything like the other Grados, I think changing the pads to the S-Cushes would make the midrange peak at around 2kHz.- slooploop

NEW! SENDY AUDIO AIVA Impressions?
No, I look from a variety of difference transducers and compare the differences. I don’t have a specific reference because I haven’t heard anything I’d actually consider “neutral” but I guess a comparison point is that I think the Harman curve is way, way too colored. The HD800 has a dipped...- slooploop

NEW! SENDY AUDIO AIVA Impressions?
I just ended up selling my Aivas, they just didn’t sound right to me in the midrange and the bass was too stuffy. For people who have upgraded, where have you gone? I’ve tried many of the other popular higher end headphones such as Mr Speakers Ether line, the Beyer T1, Audeze LCD-X, etc and none...- slooploop

Grado modders go Magnum
So what I’m getting from the website is that the V9 should be a lot flatter of a sound? That’s super interesting, I’m pretty tempted to pick up a pair- slooploop
