AUDEZE LCD XC
I have an LCD-X and I do a bit of wood working and I was thinking about making a pair of closed cups for them so I could convert them to XCs (or close to them). I was wondering if anyone knows if the inside of the cups are hollow with damping material or just flat (and if this changed with the...- Danthrax

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
I've had my mojo for about 11 months now, recently I started noticing electrical noises sometimes while the device is on coming out of the headphones. Has anyone else noticed this? My unit also seems to be running warmer than usual.- Danthrax

Focal Elear and Utopia Review / Preview With Measurements - Head-Fi TV
Anyone know when the Elear is shipping or is it shipping now and I'm just not looking in the right place? Or is the pre-order actually just order and they ship when they come in stock? Also I have the mojo and was wondering what solution people are using for cables 13ft of cable terminated...- Danthrax

NOBLE Savant Thread (Impressions, Reviews, Tours)
The two drivers in the savant are $50 per side for the stock drivers if you were to purchase them from digikey/mouser (at least for the old plastic shell version of the savant). However you can make adjustments to the drivers and other tuning changes that effect the sound. Some of these tuning...- Danthrax

Home-Made IEMs
Personally I'd buy a HODVTEC for the low driver, it's more of a replacement for the sonion 3800 series than a dtec would be, and I believe JH uses the sonion 3800 series for the lows.- Danthrax

You also need a way to measure it, and then you have to figure out how to make a crossover network, and figure out tubing length and acoustic filter length. It might be cheaper to buy the parts but it's a lot more work.- Danthrax

It wouldn't cost more to immitate it and get close, but for the most part it's probably better to just buy one outright.- Danthrax

Home-Made IEMs
Hello I was wondering if the HODVTEC-30168 + TWFK-30017 was still considered a good combination? And if so does anyone have recommendations for where to start with the crossover design? As in some ballpark estimates for resistors/caps that would make sense? I was also looking at...- Danthrax

InEarZ (Fisher Hearing) Custom Remold Owner's Thread
It's not that they are a bad company, it's the fact that it's 2016 and they apparently don't respond to email (despite having it listed). So I'm not really sure what to think of that. And like I said this is a time intensive process that can be made more transparent. It's something that they...- Danthrax

Reply to review by 'danthrax' on item 'Flare Audio R1 Headphones'
LuckyNat go look at the screwing FR graph it has no bass it has no treble. It's a headphone designed for 60year olds with more money than audible frequencies in their ears. It's a terrible headphone made to be a massive money grab because they know the head-fi hype machine will get fools to buy...- Danthrax

Hello, I have a pair of original JH13 pros and they have a driver imbalance. I was wondering what drivers I could use as a replacement with the existing crossover setup. Or if there is a superior setup I could try. Right now I think I just need to replace the "mid" driver in each ear but I'm not...- Danthrax
