Nice review, one question I had- you say these are identical to the HD668B. But I notice those say 56 ohms on the cup, and the Samsons are 32 ohms? Just wondering...- Sarchi

Are you a good person, morally?
Since it's "that time of year", I would guess probably 90% of us here cheat on our tax returns, even in small ways. So, no. OTOH, I would never scam a HF'er, so buy with confidence! lol- Sarchi

Important question about Zune and MediaMonkey
I'm using the Zune30 and have no issues with 192 and 256vbr's - they sound good.- Sarchi

What influences the sound of a violin, source, amp, other?

20th century/ modern classical
Given the diversity of names being thrown out in this thread, it would be a shame to ignore the major film score composers-- especially Bernard Hermann and Ennio Morricone. -

Rate The Last Movie You Watched
Sunshine (2007) 7.5 / 10 Far from perfect, but also much better than I had expected; I was sure I'd hate it, but it was surprisingly an engaging (if far fetched) story. Pretty impressive blend of sci-fi, doomsday, film noir, and terror. Also the best special effects I've seen in quite a...- Sarchi

Tube amp - A hassle to use/maintain?
Most modern tube amps are very reliable. Yes, you have to change the tubes-- usually every 3-4 years, but it can vary with many factors; type of tube, warmup circuit, how much plate voltage is applied in the circuit, etc. Some tubes can last more than 10,000 hours of use, some only 1000-2000...- Sarchi

Let's all stop swearing on the forums
<-- Al Swearingen would have a thing or two to say about this. Personally, my feeling is that forums should be completely uncensored. Most of what we perceive as social cursing is a precept of religious teachings; yet in an ever more global world, these make even less sense. Being PC is...- Sarchi

Mozart String Quartets
Lindsay SQ have really redefined the late Beethoven quartets.... For Mozart I like the Tokyo and Italianos...but I really don't keep up with the latest recordings. Definitely stay away from Alban Bergs... -

Check on Diyaudio.com as well as some websites like Madisound and Linkwitz. You'll find plenty of plans out there. The Fostex plans are nice and many are pretty simple. The easiest way IMO to start is with open baffle designs. Even I was able to build a pair, and believe me I had no skills...- Sarchi

Radiohead the new Coldplay?
Is it just that song, or is there some bigger comparison thing going on here? I only know the Coldplay stuff that gets radio airplay..not my cuppa joe. I seriously doubt they've ever written anything approaching the caliber of songs like Nude or Reckoner. -

Radiohead the new Coldplay?
I agree with many of the OP's points, but not the Coldplay comparison. Even an uneven Radiohead album is vastly superior to almost anything else out there. I like the record a lot. -
£50 to £60 pc speakers
Assuming you have a large desk -- get a used pair of real speakers, like the old B&W 201's or Tannoy M2's. Find an original Sonic Impact T Amp for 30 bux and you'll be set. MUCH better than computer spkrs. -
