Teac Reference Line UD-501 USB DAC "DSD"
Hi all, I received the UD-501 about a week ago, paired with the AH-501 for headphone listening and the AX-501 for speakers (Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2). At first I thought it sounded quite harsh and unengaging. The bass wasn't there, and there was too much treble emphasis..I was really...- airs

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Got the SZ2000 yesterday, hooked it up to my HA-501, played with EQ in Jriver, then just grinned for an hour or so as I tested out my favorite tracks. Thanks for this thread!- airs

Yggdrasil: A (P)review - Two days of paradise
The Teac stack is rock solid and deserves more attention IMO. I haven't had them very long (almost a week) but I can tell you already that the UD-501 paired with the HA-501 is really something to behold - especially considering there's a $150 rebate for each of them right now!- airs

Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
I wasn't suggesting you do it maliciously. It's just good to know that if you really don't like the DAC you have some recourse.- airs

Well you could always audition it for 15 days. Although you'd be out ~$188: shipping to you ($36.50 for my zip), shipping back to Schiit (assume $36.50), and 5% restocking fee (Schiit calls it a transaction fee, $114.95)- airs

I'm aware that you hate the Teac. I'm thinking about ordering the Yggdrasil - just wondering if this is the same mode that Archimago was talking about on the Teac.- airs

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)
I liked the signature right away - very full sounding. Mid bass is impactful and perhaps a little overstated compared to something like the HD598, but I am enjoying it. I don't find the highs to be irritating or harsh at all so far. Still testing... :)- airs

Just picked up the DT770's from Guitar Center. Hooked them up to my iBasso D7 here at work and I am loving them already! Very comfy and light on the head. I haven't tried too much material yet but so far I'm really digging the sound. Thanks to whoever posted the deal :)- airs

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
I ended up changing my order to the Airmotiv 5 at the last minute, thinking that the 6 would be too large for my desk. I got them last Friday and am really enjoying them so far - crystal clear with nice tight bass. They are a big step up from the Audioengine A5+. Of course, they are $599 (but...- airs

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
I am positive I want some Airmotivs, but I'm not sure which model to get between the 5 and 6. I'm going to be using them as PC desktop speakers, connected to a dedicated dac. I'm worried the 6 will be too large and take up too much space, but the 5 doesn't have as much amp power and doesn't...- airs
