Dumb Question: Can I hot-swap my headphones once my amp is warmed up?
Wow I had no idea. I've been turning the amp on with the LCD-2's plugged in for the past few years. How bad do you think this was for them? From here on out I'll unplug everything, wait for the amp to warm up, then plug things in.- LostChild1

Dumb Question: Can I hot-swap my headphones once my amp is warmed up?
So I finally have a second pair of headphones to use with my WA6. (First being LCD-2's, second being ATH-M50's I primarily use for running.) Anyway, I'm looking to do some A/B testing, so I was just wondering if there's any harm in unplugging one set of cans, and plugging another set in. Should...- LostChild1

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
How much different is the WA6-SE from the WA6 actually? I understand it has a decoupled power supply, will this help with the faint noise I hear when turning the power on my WA6 past 11 o'clock? Also, if I were to sell the WA6, what is the going rate, and how exactly would I ship this heavy...- LostChild1

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Hey folks, I'm considering what my next move should be and could use your experience. I currently own a WA6 with GZ34 rectifier and stock 6DE7 drive tubes after my 7N7's died. It's paired with an LCD-2 and I was wondering how worthwhile an upgrade to a WA7 might be, or maybe another amp in...- LostChild1

~$500 for a new upgrade
So far I've ended up ordering the Schiit Modi. After the replies from the other day I did a lot of searching on these forums and elsewhere and read many reviews that said for the price it really can't be beaten and even upgrading to something 2-3x the price is not justifiable and that sonic...- LostChild1

Reduce computer noise?
If I'm not playing music and have my headphones on at a reasonable volume and move the mouse around it produces a slight buzz noise, and if I stop moving the mouse the sound stops. Is there a way to reduce / eliminate this noise? Would a different sound card / DAC do the trick, or is this...- LostChild1

~$500 for a new upgrade
I've been getting a few bonuses at work lately and I feel like I can justify spending around $500 on a new component in my setup, especially considering it's been a while since I've changed anything with it. My main use is playing MP3/FLAC from my PC and my chain looks like this: M-Audio...- LostChild1

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
Hey thanks again for a detailed reply, I appreciate you taking the time. I just got out my old 6DE7's and I've put them in. When I turned it back on there was no electrical sound, but it may be because the GZ34 was still warm from before I made the switch. I'll give it another shot tomorrow...- LostChild1

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
Hey thanks for the reply! The noise only happens as it warms up and then doesn't happen at all. I have a GZ34 and two 7N7 <-> 6DE7. I have a few older tubes that I had swapped for these around somewhere that I could try and see if it is indeed a tube issue. Do you have any recommendations on...- LostChild1

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
Hi everyone, I just received my LCD-2's back from Audeze on a warranty repair as they were producing electrical noise in the headphones. I've gotten them back and an electrical noise is still happening but it sounds different, and only seems to occur as my Woo Audio WA6 amp is warming up. Could...- LostChild1

Electrical sound in headphones when amp first turned on
Hi all, I have a set of LCD-2's and a WA6 amp. When I first turn the amp on it sends an electrical sound through one of the headphones regardless of whether or not music is playing. I typically don't wear the headphones as the amp warms up (5-10 minutes) so I haven't yet pinpointed if it comes...- LostChild1

Proper bit setup from source to DAC
So, if I have foobar2000 setup to output with WASAPI, it'll bypass whatever I have setup within Windows itself? Sort of like "WASAPI and forget it?" ;) And then, if I have two sound cards on a PC, the one built in to the motherboard, and one on a dedicated sound card, each with an optical out...- LostChild1

It is! The Galant. My PC tower hangs off to the left side, on the outside of the desk. They're pretty customize able, which is what sealed the deal for me. They're these stands: (They also come in 10inch, and 12inch) http://www.speakerstandsonline.com/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=WT0206 Any...- LostChild1

I've known this for a long time, but never actually had a reason to replace it. But I think I'll go ahead and get it now, they're like, 30 dollars. Much easier price to swallow than our favorite hobbies ;)- LostChild1

Audio-GD NFB-2 & NFB-3 Delivery & Impression Thread
I'm not necessarily decided. As I said, I was looking into these things about a year ago, but didn't have that kind of money to drop on my hobby at the time. Things have now changed, and I think I can afford to buy myself something nice for around $600-800. I've only been back on Head-Fi for 2...- LostChild1

Audio-GD NFB-2 & NFB-3 Delivery & Impression Thread
From what I understand here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oversampling Oversampling basically just gives the filters and clock more "wiggle room" for imperfections, in the anti-aliasing and resolution, allowing for a higher S/N ratio. This is different from Upsampling in that the signal isn't...- LostChild1

Thanks for the responses guys, I think then I'll just leave it as it, and just keep dusting it every week. Maybe I'mm look into the toaster cover, if I can find a decent one that isn't too gaudy. :) Hopefully I'll be able to get a sort of shelf setup happening soon, where I can at least have...- LostChild1

Static / Noise from PC Rig?
How am I feeding the sound card? I run foobar2000 with FLAC, with ASIO. So I don't think the problem lies there. I think you're right with the problem lying in the DAC of the M-Audio. I'm hopefully upgrading soon to an NFB-2.1, so hopefully that'll help. :) Side question, if I have an optical...- LostChild1

Audio-GD NFB-2 & NFB-3 Delivery & Impression Thread
Hi everyone, About a year ago I was looking into buying the NFB-2, and I'm now back looking at it again (Although now it's the NFB-2.1) I remember from my research into the NFB-2 that it was recommended to get the DIR9001, but I also seem to recall an option for an alternate clock chip that...- LostChild1

Hey owners, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to keep my WA6 dust-free? I keep it on my desktop, so there's nothing above it to cover it from falling dust, and it requires dusting about once a week. Has anyone ever created a case for their WA6? (That obviously gets taken...- LostChild1
