Problem with the headphone jack
Thanks! What exactly should I be checking? If the problem could be verified with a multimeter, the headphones wouldn't be working at all, no?- Birghtest

Problem with the headphone jack
The problem is that the plug is a "fancy" angled one, with a uniquely shaped thin cable. The other, more important reason, is that there's is still another year of warranty left, so changing the plug is out of the question. I thought maybe the problem was with something else, as I have...- Birghtest

Problem with the headphone jack

USB DAC vs PCI sound card for my ATH M-50 ?
Got the Asus DG. Sound got much much better, bass got deeper (probably thanks to the amp). Couldn't be happier for such a cheap price, amazing product. I'm just glad there's no more static when nothing is playing, unlike before.- Birghtest

Can a hissing sound card damage my headphones?
Thanks for replying! The thing is, it's a static hiss - like the sound TVs used to have. I know some people use noise to burn in their headphones, but I thought that maybe constant hiss on the same volume every time the headphones are used will eventually cause some kind of damage.- Birghtest

Can a hissing sound card damage my headphones?
Hey all, I got myself awesome new M50s not long ago, and I'm using them a lot with my laptop which has a slight hissing from the earphones plug. My question is - is it possible that constant hissing will damage my headphones, it's not too loud and doesn't really disturb me?- Birghtest

Need help choosing a DAC for ATH-M50
I see... At the moment I'm using a small (~40$) USB sound card (which is better sounding than my on-board) http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-usb-soundcard I use it with my 50mm 32ohm gaming headset (by the same company). It should be enough power for the M50 as well, right?- Birghtest

Need help choosing a DAC for ATH-M50
Thank you for the answer, I'm confused - if I plug a DAC into the onboard audio jack, will the sound improve? I thought I can connect a DAC to my PC only by USB so that I'll notice a huge improvement... Also, isn't the E5 an amp and not a DAC? Will the M50 benefit from a connection to an...- Birghtest
