Hey all,
I got myself awesome new M50s not long ago, and I'm using them a lot with my laptop which has a slight hissing from the earphones plug.
My question is - is it possible that constant hissing will damage my headphones, it's not too loud and doesn't really disturb me?

Sounds like you have an onboard soundcard.  Is that right?  If so it's probably picking up noise from the other parts on your computer.

Thanks for replying!
The thing is, it's a static hiss - like the sound TVs used to have.
I know some people use noise to burn in their headphones, but I thought that maybe constant hiss on the same volume every time the headphones are used will eventually cause some kind of damage.

It could also be one of your cables.  You can get nice cables for great prices at www.monoprice.com
